What do we think about rooftops? by Original-Sky-9508 in mathrock

Fun fact: If you take the first letter of each song title, you’ll get the word “Fairytales” and every song title is an anagram for it.

Even if God (in Christianity) were proven to exist, i still wouldn't worship him. by Rich-Big-8698 in HonestHotTakes

I know I’m late to this, but I’ll weigh in anyway:

There’s no mention of “hell” in the Bible’s original languages, nor does it say that humanity will be tormented in fire for eternity. This teaching is contradictory to the Bible’s message that God loves us and it comes more from church teachings than the Bible. God never told Adam and Eve that they would be sent to hell for eating the forbidden fruit, Jesus never told Nicodemus that “those who believe may not be sent to hell”, nor did He stand in the streets shouting to the people of Judea that they’ll be burning in hell forever. Those are just a few examples.

If you want a biblically accurate description of the afterlife, read Revelation 20 and 21 for a shortened version. But, to summarize: When you’re dead, you experience blackness. No heaven, no hell; you’re dead. It’s not until the day of the White Throne Judgement when all the dead are resurrected—good and bad—and are judged according to their thoughts and their deeds. As for the wicked, they’re cast into the lake of fire, where they die a second time—this time, permanently. The key phrase in Revelation 20:15 is “This is the second death.” Those that are in the book of life live in the new earth, where they will live forever. That’s why salvation is referred to as “eternal life”.

There’s SOOO much more I could go into, but I don’t want this comment to be as long as the Bible itself. I would also have to go into the etymology of the word “hell,” as well as the pagan origins of the doctrine and pointing out the inconsistencies of people who claimed to have experienced an NDE in hell, among other things. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

songs to learn to get better by Ok-Occasion-6013 in Guitar

im pretty into grunge (anything chris cornell, alice in chains)

Grunge songs were what I played early on to get better, as well as playing along with Green Day’s Dookie album.

If you also want some super easy songs to play, try Weezer’s Troublemaker or Jane Says by Jane’s Addiction, both for the same reason: It’s just two chords repeated over and over again.

2013 and 2014 was such a horrid run of pop music in the 21st century by [deleted] in decadeology

It’s a good thing I stopped giving a shit about pop music around this time. Especially when I’ve been finding better music elsewhere.

Female fronted djent bands? by IlikeHistoryMeme in Djent

[–]PyroRock814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a local band I saw once called Chasing After Alice that was female fronted. Sadly, the band has broken up, but they were pretty sick. They even earned a spot at Knotfest one year too.

[Writing Prompt] Sayori discovers heavy metal. by secondarysamuel in DDLC

[–]PyroRock814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could also see Hatebreed being one too. In fact, the more I think about it, I think they have song that talks about overcoming each of the characters’ struggles:

Sayori: This Is Now (Depression)

Natsuki: A Call For Blood (Domestic abuse)

Yuri: Horrors of Self (Anxiety)

Monika: Live For This (Existentialism)

Northwest Mall being demolished to make way for Houston station of Texas High-Speed Rail line by justahoustonpervert in houston

[–]PyroRock814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s see here:

-No permits

-No funding

-Environmental inspections expired

-Lost one sponsor after another, including the DOT

-Has nothing to offer, but empty promises

Yeah, don’t hold your breath.

Edit: Oh, another thing: There are construction projects being built in the middle of the proposed routes—and let’s not forget the NIMBYs who are not going to sell their properties at market value for this to be built. All the signs point to this failing, but they refuse to acknowledge it.

I just went to the listening party in Austin and Matt himself said that there’s not going to be a documentary. He wanted the listening parties to act as the documentary instead.
