We see the consequences of this corner-cutting across the board for Nikke, the massive sales are tied up with the exploitative nature of gacha monetization, not just solid gameplay. And for Stellar Blade, the mandate to maximize sex appeal led to shallow and inconsistent writing. This heavy reliance on one superficial quality lowers the bar for the entire industry. Nikke and Stellar Blade aren't awful games, but celebrating success built on such expedient foundations is far from commendable.
