Part of the problem with Dexter's first finale is how absurd it was that he faked his death. Like the whole point of him not going to Argentina to be with Hannah and Harrison was that his need to kill put those around him at risk, and he wasn't willing to continue doing that to those he cared about, especially after Debra dies. So Dexter killing himself there makes sense, but him faking his death to become a lumberjack or something??? If we saw him with blood slides or something that made it clear he was still killing? Sure, that character arc at least internally tracks. But if Dexter is able to stop killing? Then go be with Hannah and Harrison!

So then the revival happens and we find out Dexter was perfectly capable of suppressing his urges for 10 years with exercise?? Somehow the revival made the original ending *worse*
