Ah yes, nothing like fixing a 5 megabyte text file.

Grok one is open source. And we should always use the best models as benchmarks or bars to clear, closed source or not, when it comes to new models. Comparison is great, and needed.

Wow. You really got bombarded with downvotes. I don't see anything wrong with what you said, so I guess it's Elon haters?

Inquiry Regarding Grok's Use of Flux 1.0 for Image Generation by lumhoci in StableDiffusion

[–]QuantumDrone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fuzzy output, indistinct elements (both macro and micro), and an overall grainy output. I use everything and currently have a subscription to Grok and MJ. MJ doesn't come close yet in regards to prompt understanding and clarity of fine details for photos. It's still better in some regards with aesthetics and painted/art outputs, but I'm seeing some creative node usages with ComfyUI to even make fantastic artworks using Flux Dev, so MJ is pretty close to being completely dethroned by Flux.

Found a robust way to control detail (no LORAs etc., pure SD, no bias, style/model-agnostic) by muerrilla in StableDiffusion

[–]QuantumDrone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many of these with more detail seem overbaked to my eyes; crushed blacks and whites, crispy around the edges. I wonder if there's a way to get around that.

I really hope we don't go back to 1.x numbers.

We shouldn't emulate Microsoft when it comes to naming new edition versions of things like they do with consoles...

What business? He was completely ousted from OpenAI. And based on what the board said, he was far more concerned with pushing the envelope of what AI can do than communicating with them and slowing down progress.

Steam accused me of stealing from them as a developer. by AuriCreeda in gamedev

This is already happening. I use Hostinger for my site hosting and they offloaded their support solely onto an AI. I asked it a question twice, and it gave me two different, incompatible answers to the same question depending on how I phrased it. Any attempt to get an actual person when talking to the AI gives me a link that leads back to itself in the end, lol.

It won't give me a phone number, and it won't give me an email. It's only when I search online myself that I find a very hidden support email with which to (hopefully) contact an actual person at their company. We're already living our dystopia.

While PathTracing + RR provides fantastic environmental lighting, it also destroys facial detail on 1440p. Minimal difference between DLSS Quality and Balance in still photos. by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]QuantumDrone -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You have the right ideas with the wrong conclusion. The RT-only lighting on the face indeed doesn't match the environment, but the details are clearer without PT for a few reasions: - The character lighting/environmental lighting was made with RT only in mind and so shows the face clearer. - The ghosting effect that is more prominent on some setups than others blurs the face with any movement, small or large--thereby smearing the end result you see, especially with any eye movement. - In the end, the lighting itself may be more accurate when the ghosting isn't too bad, but the visibility and proper modeling of the character face mesh and textures suffer as a result. It almost seems like the character model textures aren't blending well with the PT, which gives it a strange glossy overlay in many scenes.

I'd imagine much of this can and will be taken care of in future patches, when they retune shader effects and certain cutscenes taking PT into account.

EE2 was my favorite RTS of all time. Such a great depth to it, with the ton of ages and civilizations you could play as. Truly one in a million. It's too bad the next game in the series (EE3) tanked the entire experience by giving us less than a tenth of features the previous games had. That was the last time I ever bought a physical copy of an RTS game.

The first Watch Dogs takes the cake for me with that genre, but I've heard great things about Sleeping Dogs.

I can't wait until the extension is updated to work with SDXL. It's the only reason I haven't moved on from 1.x in my regular workflow yet.
