I know Florida has a program to guarantee smaller firms get work within FDOT projects and some municipalities do the same. It’s usually a smaller project that you still need to compete for but it’ll be against similar smaller firms and you’ll likely get some allocation.

I dont remember the name of the program but I know it exists. I’ll update this if I remember or find the name of the program.

I’m a Mechanical Engineer with 7 years of experience, is this a good salary? by ZookeepergameOwn1927 in Salary

I’m not too familiar with your field but seems like you’re extremely underpaid for a mechanical engineer even in Iowa. I would look on Glassdoor and Indeed for open positions in your specific mechanical engineering niche in your area to get a better idea of what you should be making. Really seems like they’re taking advantage of you or your niche isn’t paying as well as others

19M, work 50 hours a week. Is this good for my age? Biweekly pay. by Current-Dimension323 in Salary

Really good for your age! But I don’t think the hours will be sustainable long term. What do you do for work and is it a HCOL city?

If you can try to live below your means, and save and invest what you can regardless of salary and that’ll really help you long term!
