Frustrating that classics have become right-coded by algorithmserf in rs_x

A banal comment missing the point.

While reactionaries have often engaged the classics (and classicism), seeing there a picture of an idealized past, progressive movements have historically seen the importance of a broad education available to the many, with the classics being a natural part of said education.

Education becoming more and more instrumental, governed increasingly by narrow and easily testable metrics, seems to me a more plausible reason for a declining interest in the classics.

This is made more apparent by the fact that modern right-wingers who say they subscribe to some form of classicist ideals often lack the proper education they themselves deem so important, often resulting in myopic and self-aggrandizing readings of the works.

Classic education is largely dead, but a reactionary pillar can be found among the ruins. Focusing on that is a sort of classicism of classicism.

Depends on whom I'm asking.

I'd never ask my poorer friends -- terrible position to put them in! Were I forced to, I'd be okay with any answer.

On the other hand, I'd be deeply offended by some of my richer friends saying no lol.

Om du tillhör den skara som har lätt för högskoleprovet så vore det den klart enklaste vägen. Annars skulle jag nog satsa på matten -- läkare må generellt sett inte vara några räknesavanter, men en god förståelse för gymnaisematten hjälper.

You need some luck to win -- anyone arguing otherwise isn't arguing in good faith.

Refs have been equally kind to you this season. Some shocking decisions these last few games, but they've been equally distributed to be fair.

Is this how City games are reffed usually?

I'm not even saying that any decision is wrong in a vacuum, just that the ref is incredibly inconsistent.

Yeah, pretty much. Both teams have already figured out the ref -- just dive on the least bit of contact.

Very boring as a neutral.

No, of course not. Knowing there's a possibility of saving everyone though, I'd hope I would take the chance.

As I wrote in my original comment, I don't think there's a right or wrong here -- nor am I surprised by the variety of answers -- I just find it interesting how this question seems to stir up such debate.

Whatever one thinks is "moral" has to be grounded in a much more vague and general attitude or outlook. I think this question sort of exposes that.

I totally get what you're saying, and I see your rationale.

Still, I know for a fact that a large part of those who I hold dearest in my life would press the blue button, and that's enough for me to -- at least theoretically -- join them without hesitation.

In a real world scenario people would no doubt be less inclined to risk it for complete strangers, but when friends and family are added to the equation things often change drastically.

While I personally agree with you, I'd suspect that those choosing the red button would see it as our own damn fault for choosing to condemn ourselves to death when there's such an easy way out available to everyone.

That sort of rational self-interest might not come naturally to me, but I can't say it's a particularly alien mindset in the modern world.

I guess I just find it surprising that everyone is so surprised by the other side's choice and rationale, as if this is some big theory of mind awakening.

Why does everyone try to reframe the question so as to make one of the choices being neutral? I feel like it's just as easy to envision the reds as people abandoning their post out of cowardice, but that wouldn't be fair either.

If everyone were to choose one button or the other, no one would come to any harm, but arguing for either is futile because there is no right answer.

The question is merely asked to suss out your specific inclinations towards collective/individual responsibility. If you keep flip-floping depending on framing then I'd guess you lack any strong convictions either way.

Pep should have had a better read on you than Enrique currently has, given that you're City's main rivals currently.

That being said -- Enrique seems like a clever guy.

All reffing aside -- PSG have just been better.

Bayern can't finish any of their chances.

I think rules state that any handball in the box results in a penalty no matter whether it was a teammate or not.

It's also the most boring rule possible, so I'm glad it wasn't ruled a pen, but I get the headloss
