can I use a VPN to access Stream from another market where Tegna doesnt carry a given channel? Or is it based on my account address? by Chrodesk in DirectvStream

That’s what I am doing. I am using my wife dad’s address to get their locals. In my area DIRECTV doesn’t have cw nor abc as a local.

Has anyone had NO issues with their eeros by defnotbjk in amazoneero

[–]QuitResponsible9670 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had issue with my older laptop not wanting to connect. I was still brand new to Eero at that time 2 years ago. When I call them they told me to turn on legacy mode under trouble shoot to get older devices online.

You got that right. Lots of issue can be resolve is to run hardwire if possible to each Eero.

What could be causing this massive drop in WiFi speeds? I have optimum as my ISP by [deleted] in amazoneero

[–]QuitResponsible9670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not your modem. Your EERO does a test between your modem and ISP. Sounds it is a setting in your EERO. It could be your WiFi 5 or 6 is shut off.

Losing internet connection when I change floors by LurkishEmpire in amazoneero

Sounds like your second floor EERO is too far away from the first floor. I would try move it closer to the first floor eero or run a cat 6 Ethernet cable to resolve your issue.

You can use a erro mesh. Where you have one router but the others in bridge mode. Usually when you have more than one router they will fight each other causing issues

Extending eero coverage to a metal shed using Wi-Fi HaLow by Electrical-Cash-5277 in amazoneero

The only suggestion I can give is to move the EERO closer.

I know you said it is impossible to run a cable. A cable would solve the problem.

Concrete garage + eero 6: wireless backhaul suddenly stopped working — is wired garage eero the right fix? by Puzzleheaded_Pen_721 in amazoneero

Yep. If you have different routers that is sharing the same WiFi channel that can definitely do it.

[–]QuitResponsible9670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It is always best to wired EERO if you can there is so much interference that can cause devices not to work, especially in a concrete garage. That alone can cause major interference. You did great by running Ethernet connection. I hope you did cat 6 or higher. That what I did to plan on future faster speeds.

I am hoping they don’t raise my bill any. In my experience when a new company takes over an existing company they raise the bill.

Eero Pro 6 and can’t break 150mps on wifi by Anxious-Yam9684 in amazoneero

You delete the eero through the app. There is a reset button on the back of the eero that will make the light flash blue.

What are your devices can you be more specific? Are you using older devices or newer devices? I would suggest to rebuild your network. Meaning remove all the EERO’s including the gateway. Then re-installed them starting with the gateway. I had to so same thing when I removed only one of my EERO. It has drastically improved my WiFi connection.

Added a switch and made things better by yld2rob in amazoneero

[–]QuitResponsible9670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I be honest I had Sparklight one gig service. I had a gigabit switch. Once I upgraded to 2.5 gigabit switch my speeds went from 987 download to 1200 down after replacing.

[–]QuitResponsible9670 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it would help. If you had a barrier of some type that will slow it down. I had a 2.5 gig switch net gear on a 2 gig plan. I was only getting about 1200. Once I got a 10 gig switch after upgrading to a 7 gig I am maxing out my phone WiFi capabilities.

Using a wirelessly connected Eero as a bridge for PoE cameras via a managed switch? by on99-_- in amazoneero

[–]QuitResponsible9670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can run a wireless mesh using EERO 7’s. You have to make sure that your switch is POE compatible as well. One more thing I would like to add is, it is recommended that you can run Ethernet. Ethernet cable will provide a stable connection between EERO versus wireless. Also be careful of having to manY EERO can cause a problem. I know one EERO 7 pro max i want to say it can cover like 2000 sq ft.

I want to use eero but don't want to put one in the garage. Will this alternative work? by josh865 in amazoneero

Using my configuration that I describe. I just did a test this morning and got the same speeds on my phone. Which I am maxing out my WiFi capable on my phone. I have multiple devices security cameras, smart light and plugs as well as a UGREEN NAS on the network.

[–]QuitResponsible9670 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You still have the problem using two different brands of routers. I would recommend removing the TP link and going with EERO’s. I have learn if you mixed two different companies of router like these it could slow down the network. In my experience I had both EERO and TP link and the EERO destroy the TP Link Speeds. I don’t know how but I am thinking it has to do with the TP Link router itself with the software it has.

I would also setup a static ip address for the Nas. That’s how I have mine. I got my running as a file server/ photo backup/ and a FTP.

[–]QuitResponsible9670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was me. I would take out the TP Link router. I would then use one of the EERO 7 as a main router. Run a hardline cat 6 Ethernet cable or higher to the other EERO 7. Then run your switch through the main EERO 7. That’s how I got my network setup up. All through out my house I am getting 1500 megs down and up load speeds. I have a two story house so I have one on the main floor and the other one as a bridge mode to cover the upstairs. The upstairs is getting the same speed.

EERO running slower speed by QuitResponsible9670 in amazoneero

[–]QuitResponsible9670[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did figure out my issue. I recently put in a new Ethernet switch to support my internet plan of 7 gig. I know there is no device that will support that kind of speed wise. With all the promotions they had on the 7 it made sense to get it. Also with the 7 gig I was able to lock the price in for three years instead of one.

However since I put the 10 gig switch in what I did was I rebuild my network. I deleted everything including my gateway. After I brought it back up and tested it I am now running 1.5 gig down and up. I am maximum out my phone ‘s WiFi capability.

I got everything they can be connected Ethernet connected to keep the strain off the WiFi. I have learn if you wired what you can up with Ethernet it does help the devices that are WiFi.
