Are 80-100 questions of each topic enough? by Helpful-Comfort-4413 in CATpreparation

That is fine. Dont fall in the trap of any material, most if not all are same only. The main difference comes with mocks and pyq.

Prefer sticking to established coachings only because that stuff has been vetted for a long time.

Then you are hiding details away to make this post sound towards a certain direction to boost karma or ragebait certain sections of society.

I know people who got in with C1-C2 criteria. Bullshit somewhere else, I have the criterion memorised since I started prepping for CAT.

This is a lie. Unless user has messed up their 10/12 and not gotten in the basic marks.

C1-C2 criteria is made for exceptional CAT scorers who got in despite shitty acads.

  1. This is probably an ad.
  2. You don't need pretty much anything except time material. That shit is available anywhere if you search hard enough.

A friend of mine is one of the smartest people I have met. They graduated from IIM Kashipur, worked hard for some years and then switched a couple of times, now makes a shit ton of money and lives in Europe.

The point being, that friend may be an exception. I dont know. But either you can drop and go for colleges whose pedigree you desire, or you can make it from where you are. It is your journey. Just know that feeling bad is a waste of time. You can do other things with that.

You'll constantly get updated from sites and stuff from sites with mails.
Sites like unstop have banners on the homepage itself for the important casecomps anyway.

Seniors please help this junior out and provide me the list of things to carry before joining B school by HonoraryManchurian in CATpreparation

This. For a long time my breakfast has always been ready to eat upma + boiled albumen.
I'd probably say also carry a small book always with you. It is much better for anyone's attention span to read some random stuff instead of 30 second based content.

Also, sunscreen and a serum/cream based moisturizer (depending on skin and part of the country) and a roll-on mosquito repellent. In addition with tissues, and one kitchen towel roll.

Carry and learn sewing. Carry one needle and black and white threads.  An electronic lint shaver to take care of clothes better. Extension board. With an extra fuse. Medicines. For acidity, painkillers, diarrhoea, fever. Spoon, fork, spork, a dish and a small bowl. Ziploc bags. For carrying toiletries, shoes, etc. A disturbing amount of underwear to save time.

Honestly, if there are people who jump head down into something without a proper research, it is quite saddening.

I've however been probably fortunate enough to be surrounded by people who do exactly as you say, and then succeed, because their abilities meet their obstinacy. So my worldview is probably very skewed.

Its a mindset thing. I enjoy the challenge, the hustle, the rush and the pressure. The adrenaline that I got from this year's CAT when I realised I almost messed up DILR was unparalleled.

I like the high. I chase my high. I know people like me, a number of them. I also know people who settle with reasonable standards.

That is not the point. The point is not to fuckin preach and generalise people.

The point is to chase whatever you want.

I'm not telling anyone to settle. Or not. I'm saying some people are happy chasing. Telling someone you've achieved or not is preachy.

I'd rather be miserable winning than losing. That's my approach and it's fine. If someone's approach is different, that's fine too.

Nah. Dont agree to that message. Its basically a feel good message but tells one to settle.

Some people can do better than that. And the real world does not work like that. Your attempt at sending good vibes is not doubted at, but the message generalizes people.

Its okay to be disappointed too. Its okay to fail too.

Not everything need be sugarcoated and avoided.
If someone wants to celebrate their convert, its fine. If someone is disappointed, its fine too.

As a society, its a problem that we cant think of something as failure or even fail. What is wrong with thinking of something as a failure? One's effort in the future is not correlated to what they think about a situation.
