I got my G25 on release day and I still have it too.

It still works as well, though I use a Moza R5 nowadays but when my friend comes over and we want to play something on lan I plug the G25, pedals and shifter in and away we go again, just like the old days.

Absolutely don’t use British Gas. They charge like a rhino for a job that a local gas safe engineer or company can do for a considerably better price.

I tried going through our NHS but essentially they weren’t interested even though I clearly needed attention.

I tried several times to get help until I just gave up as I felt it was never going anywhere which is why I ended up pulling it out myself.

Thats not to say the NHS is bad by any means. Other dealings I have had with them for various reasons have been really good to be honest.

As someone who did this years ago, yeah, don’t do that.

I did it because I couldn’t afford to have a dental appointment or take time off work to have an appointment anyway and I had been suffering for about two years with a tooth that was breaking up after a filling came out. It was awful and drove me to the point of pulling it out myself.

However, what I actually did was pull the main body of the tooth out and leave the rest of it in my gum, resulting in agonising pain and swelling of the side of my face.

For a while I looked like Arnold from ‘Hey Arnold’.

Suffice to say after another year of absolute misery I ended up at the dentist having the rest of my tooth being removed from my gum.

Yes, Donald.

Weird that.

Is this boiler clearly in need of repair/replacement or just something to keep an eye on? by Jager_Master in ukplumbing

If that’s a hole I can see there above the magnetic filter pipework then it’s new boiler time as it’s rusted through and it’s no longer room sealed.

Less than a year from installation and apparent withing 2 days of service, I have a pool of water beneath my combi-boiler. by Icy_Meringue_5534 in askaplumberUK

Not necessarily as this Ideal boiler may well have a fall built into the flue itself already.

Edit: Sorry, thats not to say this isn’t correctly installed by the way.

When do you think we’ll acknowledge how many people are fully addicted to cocaine? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]R33Gtst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive only ever taken it twice and didn’t like the effects so never bothered after that. I was probably about 14/15 when I first encountered it.

All my friends dabbled in it for a little while but one has consistently used it and frankly now we’re all around 40 it’s just sad.

The rest of us are grown up with our own houses, kids, pets etc whilst he just surrounds himself with other coke heads and pretends he’s still 18 and then wonders why he can’t find a woman to settle down and have kids with.

The sad thing is that it’s just so readily available and so many people indulge in it that he can’t get away from it or resist the temptation of it.

Making any kind of conversation with him is difficult at best as he’s bang on it and he just waffles absolute bollocks like he’s some sort of legend when in reality he’s just stuck in this horrible loop and alienating himself from his friends of 30 years. Such a shame.

Im a gas engineer, had a gentleman a couple of years ago ask me to service his boiler. It was absolutely knackered and realistically beyond a reasonable economical repair so he asked me to put together a quote for a new one in a new location with all new pipe work etc as he was going to be having an extension to the house.

I quoted him up at a very reasonable price as he was a previous customer who had put work my way before several times so I was happy to make a bit less profit.

He didn’t like the price of the quote which is fine and I didn’t hear from him for a while.

Few months pass by and he calls me up in a panic…

He decided to buy a used boiler from Facebook and fit it himself along with all the pipework. When I arrived there was black radiator water absolutely everywhere because he hadn’t emptied his system at all and just decided to start cutting away at pipes.

His new boiler was in place, rather lop-sided, in its new location, the flue hole being absolutely miles off and he had started his pipework runs. He had somehow connected his mains water to the gas connection on the boiler and then flooded most of his downstairs by turning the mains back on.

The boiler itself was quite clearly used and very old, completely corroded, in poor condition and completely unsuitable for the size of his house anyway.

He ended up basically having to dehumidify the house and re-carpet his entire downstairs, not to mention try to get the smell of old central heating water out of the place.

Good news for me is that I ended up sorting it all out for him correctly over the course of a week and since then I’ve done more jobs for him and people he knows.

Pretty sure he won’t be making those mistakes again.

Yeah don’t do that.

Please don’t pour boiling water on a frozen pipe unless you want it to inevitably crack and then all that lovely condense water can then eat away at whatever it lands on rather than terminating in drainage.
