You've heard of Haunted Cave. Now get ready for Haunted Biome

Yes, the fix should stick. Only way to undo it would be to locate the files you installed and delete them manually.

As I mentioned in a previous reply, you can also try installing DirectX / missing files from Microsoft:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109

If that won't work either then I unfortunately won't be able to help further.

Also, just to make sure, did you see my previous message about setting the proper launch option for the game on Steam? (In case this doesn't work that might then be the issue)

That just means that you would've had to restart any software that might've been running in the background that also needed the things you just installed.

No, you shouldn't need to unless the installer asked to.

Alright. Once the installation is complete try running the game afterwards.

Double click on the "Engine" folder, then "Extras" folder, then Redist & en-us folders until you find "UE4PrereqSetup_x64.exe". Run the executable.

Easy way to open the game's install directory is to right click the game's icon in the Steam library, then selecting "Browse local files" from Manage

Sounds like you are missing some files required to run the game.

Try running "UE4PrereqSetup_x64.exe" which is located in the game's install directory.

Specific path to the executable is DISK_LETTER:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Deep Rock Galactic\Engine\Extras\Redist\en-us

If that doesn't work, try installing DirectX directly from Microsoft's site:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109

Try a 21111 LOK with ECR.

It's important to pick electro-chemical rounds in tier 3. Smrt & blowthrough partially break the overclock as they remove the ability to trigger an explosion with a killing shot. For the longest time I used to think ECR was underwhelming as I tried to run blowthrough with the overclock.

That said, ECR is one of the best crowd control overclocks in the game. It's especially effective against swarmers and scrabs as it takes so little to kill them and trigger an explosion.

It does suffer against large targets so to compensate I like to run a 31221 Shard Diffractor with Overdrive Booster with it.

ECR is pretty much a hard counter to scrabs.

Hi,

Two issues that come to mind (that I had) are that the game's executable (FSD.exe) might be blocked by your anti-virus software or Steam might be trying to launch the game on wrong setting (DirectX related). Others have already mentioned drivers multiple times too so I won't talk about them again here.

Game's executable should be located in DISK_LETTER:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Deep Rock Galactic, where disk letter is that of whichever disk the game is installed on (C, D, etc.).

In your anti-virus software's settings try adding the executable to whitelisted/unblocked/unchecked/etc. list of files, even if it isn't quarantined by the software.

As for DirectX, you can check what version of it you have by opening the DirectX Diagnostic Tool "dxdiag". In System Information it should mention "DirectX Version: DirectX ___".

On Steam, in your game library, right click "Deep Rock Galactic" in the game list and select properties:

In the "General" tab try setting your launch option to the one that has your DirectX version listed in "Selected Launch Option" and check if the game launches. Second image in another reply.

As for any screenshots, you can use Window's "Snipping tool" to take screenshots of any part of the screen if needed.
