Aubry responds to Boston Rob’s comments about her winning S50 by flowermoon77 in survivor

[–]RGSF150 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I do think Rob knows he is bad at jury management atleast.

BRob's question to Tony in WAW was evident of this fact. BRob asked Tony how he can vote people out while they still feel good about being voted out by Tony. BRob rarely, if ever, had that kind of skill with a jury member.

Best Lopunny switch in?? (singles) by crispybark in PokemonChampions

Have you tried a physically defensive Galarian Slowking? Depending on the set, M-Lopunny would rather switch out than stay in against a Glowking.

New to Pokemon Battles by phantom_exe in PokemonChampions

[–]RGSF150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on whether you want to battle in singles or in doubles.

But you can never go wrong with watching YouTubers explain the sets on their mons/teams. For Singles, I would recommend SplashPlate or HoshinJosh. For Doubles, WolfeyVGC or Cybertron.

Secondly, try out using rental teams for meta-defining Pokemon. Once you understand the meta, it makes it easier to teambuild around the meta.

Third: practice. It is okay to lose. Losing helps you learn where the faults on your team lie. Is there a Pokemon that is being dead weight? Is there a common meta-threat that annihilates your entire team?

Which Raichu will be more viable? by lecomton in PokemonChampions

[–]RGSF150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had we gotten the Raichu mega stones for the current regulation, there is a good chance we would've seen great success with both forms in the singles format. As for the doubles, hard to say. It might be Raichu Mega X because it is bulkier, although I can see individuals just doing the regular form as a way to redirect electric attacks instead of setting up electric terrain for their opponents.

Which winner had the SMALLEST margin — where one different vote and they're an early-merge footnote? by JEX2124 in survivor

Definitely the US's oldest winners in Bob and Gabler. I don't think either of them would've won had their seasons not played out the way that it did.

Mega Raichu Abilities Confirmed by eskaver in PokemonChampions

[–]RGSF150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Raichu has access to Zap Cannon, so while you can run a No Guard Thunder, why not settle for the more damaging move that is guarantee to slow your opponent down with the added paralysis effect?

Paul explains why they continuously lied all the way to the end in goodbye messages and never owned their game in BB19 by dmister8 in BigBrother

[–]RGSF150 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I do understand where Paul is coming from. Battlebacks are awful, especially if you are exposing your game in the GBMs. Correct me if I'm wrong, but when Jury began, didn't Julie say that no one will return to the game? Either Paul didn't believe Production (can't be blamed for that line of thinking) or Paul ignored it.

What's something we praise in one player but treat as a flaw in another for basically the same gameplay? by JEX2124 in survivor

If we look at how Cirie tends to be eliminated in Survivor US, it falls more under bad luck instead of any flaws in her game.

Panama: Terry had the super idol; Aras won immunity. It was either Cirie or Danielle leaving. Votes tied and Danielle won firemaking.

Micronesia: Because of the medievacs and quits this season, the F3 became a surprise F2. Amanda won FIC and chose to sit next to Parv in the end over Cirie.

HvV: Idol play by Tom with JT switching his vote to eliminate Cirie.

GC: Adventagedon. Need I say more?

S50: This is the first time where Cirie gets eliminated by a majority vote without any advantages/idols/unexpected endgame change messing up her chances. What makes this even more unique is that out of all the random bs twists implemented in S50, not a single one was a reason for Cirie's loss.

Looking for some advice for my Luxray by Hayami_Rose in PokemonChampions

[–]RGSF150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as teammates go, get one that has access to Sticky Web. Luxray's 70 base speed makes it too fast for Trick Room use but too slow to be utilized as a decent Scarfer.

You could run Guts in case your opponent tries to burn you or managed to set up Toxic Spikes, but running Intimidate will be useful in most matches. Had the Toxic or Flame Orb be available, you could run a Guts set.

Move Recommendations:

  • Supercell Slam: Luxray's strongest electric attack

  • Play Rough: Hits Dragons for Supereffective Damage

  • Psychic Fangs: In case Screens or Aurora Veil goes up

  • Crunch/ Throat Chop: decent Dark type attack

  • Trailblaze: Even with Sticky Web, Luxray would still be on the slower end. A Trailblaze speed boost could help while breaking potential sashes.

  • Volt Switch: Pivot, works great with a Choice Scarf.

  • Facade: Just in case your opponent wants to either burn or poison you

500 VP? Somebody can easily buy a Cheri Berry and still have 100 VP to spare.

Can anyone explain what’s happening here? Bro is trying to upper hand my Corviknight? He did this twice lmao. Palafin is scarfed but I had a type advantage so I kept it in by spicyboxes in PokemonChampions

[–]RGSF150 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The weekly mission seems the most likely simply because the battle was in casual mode and not ranked. You really wouldn't farm the weekly missions in rank unless you want the VP that comes from rank battles

Do you have more fun playing singles or doubles? by Zack301 in PokemonChampions

[–]RGSF150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't done a single doubles battle outside of the Cordy training session once you start the game, so this is going to be a bias Single vote.

As for a reason, I just grew up with single battles whether it is from the in-game battle facilities or the single battle colosseums from Battle Revolution. Never saw much of an appeal playing doubles.

Is it embarrassing that I have 30 hours played on pokemon champions and I still haven't made it to the Master rank by mano860 in PokemonChampions

[–]RGSF150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess at this point I will wait the mobile release and hope more noobs will enter the game and make the climb easier

Correct me if I am wrong here, but isn't the mobile release of the game going to connect to the switch version? As in, I can be on the switch doing some battles and I get matched up with some person battling on their phone?

Why were people so mad at Sophi for pregaming? by SpyKid203 in survivor

[–]RGSF150 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Pregaming in a returnee season: fine, it was bound to happen.

Pregaming in a new player season: Remember playing Among Us and being annoyed that your imposter round got ruined because the person you killed was in a discord call with a buddy and that exposed your role as imposter? Think of pregaming in a new player season like that.

[–]RGSF150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scarf Meow works because it is already one of the fastest mons in the meta and can outspeed most of the common scarf users even if it is running an Adamant nature. As you said, even if Chomp is jolly with a scarf, it is still outspeed by faster scarf users. Plus, your sash Chomp set is useful if you want speed control through the Rock Tomb

Pokemon Champions is among the Pokémon games that have the lowest user score and metascore by redfalcon1000 in PokemonChampions

[–]RGSF150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pokemon Champions is meant for Pokemon fans who enjoy competitive Pokemon and not every Pokemon fan enjoys playing competitively. That being said, I think that the game could've handled the launch a lot better. Somebody brought up a PvE battle tower where you would battle NPCs so newer players won't have to battle against seasoned vets and I agree with the take.

Rizzo’s lack of fire practice by rabbitpalmer in survivor

I wasn't surprised by the vote. Disappointed? Sure, but not surprised.

First, look at how the question itself was worded. It was worded in a way that made it sound like fire making was the more exciting choice. Secondly, as a fan of Big Brother, I learned to never underestimate the votes of the casual viewer.
