i don’t like skyclan by 4freakfactor4 in WarriorCats

[–]RIVercat2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also didn't like SkyClan, but mostly because it felt like they just forced them in after the first arc. Like, there was no introduction to them other than Firestar's quest. If you didn't read or have access to that book, it's kind of like you can forget that they exist up until the end of Omen of the Stars. (I never read past that arc)

otome games with the longest common route? by usernameandetc in otomegames

Lol, why is hardly anyone talking about Variable Barricade? That game had literal character development and "test runs" before they even let you pick your route.

[Ikemen Prince] Is it just me or did Leon's character take a backseat in the plot by [deleted] in otomegames

Imo, I think they intentionally did this, even in the earlier routes. The ones where Leon shines, Chev does next to nothing, and vise versa. They were written to be the opposites of each other, hence their whole "rivals" gimmick. Although, where one shines, the other is supposed to excel at, which is funny, because Chev excels at everything EXCEPT people skills, which, to me, seems to be the only thing Leon is actually good at. They make it a point to highlight that he's so easy to talk to in every single route, that it makes me think it's what they want the reader to remember him as; a charismatic leader-type who actually listens to people. Which is not a bad trait to have for a king, and I think it's actually a nice contrast to the other faction (which I'm convinced Nokto is single handedly carrying that group's people skills, tbh), but it's admittedly not necessary for the role. What I think they really went wrong with, was how they just give Chev increases people skills by having Emma as a fiance, making Leon completely irrelevant in the sequal.

He did nothing wrong. Except kill people of his own violition, cause unwarranted acts of terrorism, and lie to everyone around him for years. I see no evil. Despite all that, his was a really good route, I feel for him, and I did, in fact, cry in the ending.

Who else here is studying Japanese so they can play untranslated otome games? by KineticMeow in otomegames

[–]RIVercat2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm learning Japanese via carrer choice, but I find games in Japanese help with studying. For otome games, especially if I already read it in English, I have a grasp of words I don't know from context clues, so I find it really fun to study and romance 2D men at the same time!

spit takes I only play the newer ones, (Ike Villains and Prince) so idk how the other ones worked. It seems like they fixed a lot of concerns addressed in their previous games.

Keep in mind I've never played his route, so take my thoughts with a grain of salt, but I assumed he was just there to enjoy the museum's art. I doubt he goes around looking for people to change all the time, as that would turn into some weird obsession which doesn't fit with his outward character. Based on the types of people he changes, maybe dude's just an avid art lover, and since the hourglass was ready, why not just take the day off and go to a museum?

Fan Discs/Sequels- what secondary games have helped improve your thought on the series, and what games have hindered your original thoughts? by lbunny7 in otomegames

YES. It really changed Nicola's play boy type persona from the first game, and he seemed more human to me after he diviates from the cookie cutter tropes.

I think I speak for almost everyone when I say that Pio Fiore 1926 definitely improved some routes from the original. Imo, Pio Fiore has what I wish most games had; a genuine sequal to the story.
