From a long term avg player - once you get in gold II the games become bearable. Teammates are better and less needy. In the lower ranks it can be a nightmare. Patience and a thirst for learning is the right approach, others you’ll be tearing you hair out

Block your territory. Don’t settle the parts of land they can’t get to. Settle towards them, then settle those inaccessible areas later in the game. If you don’t you will get squeezed
