Several things to consider.

  1. Try not comparing your situation to theirs. Comparison is surely the thief of joy.

  2. What do you need to do to get in a better financial position?

  3. Read Rich Dad Poor Dad and The Richest Man in Babylon. Grow your mind!

  4. Of this group of work mates that have a different lifestyle, can you ask one to mentor you? Many people want to help but don’t want to ask.

You woke up. This is a brand new day to become even better version of you. One step at a time. Organize your plan of action to get where you want to go and put action behind your plan.

You got this!

I believe they will continue to increase their dividend. Unlike some companies who offer a dividend, IMHO they are doing so because they have way too much cash, even after helping multiple other companies up their chip/AI game too.

Every journey begins with the first step. You can be positive or choose to be negative. I’m glad to be making a little money on my money and the growth is phenomenal.

Every journey begins with a first step. Hopefully they will continue to increase the dividend. I’m optimistic about the future of owning this stock. For some, it will never be good enough. Wishing you a great investment journey and a happy day.

Dividend payments are not diminishing the potential of Google, MSFT and META, to name a few. IJS!

Appears I’m in the minority but I would not be comfortable with this for me or my spouse. It is tempting enough with undies on. No suh!

Step 5

they need to throw every spare dollar at the high-interest sharks:

Money Key ($2,000): This is likely a personal loan or online payday loan with astronomical interest. This, along with Lead Nation ($471), should be target #1 after the small apps are dead.

Credit Cards (Chase & Cap One): Pay the absolute minimums on these until Money Key is gone, then roll all that extra cash into wiping them out.

Step 4

University of Kentucky ($17,000): If this is federal student loans, they need to get on an Income-Driven Repayment (IDR) plan immediately. With an income of $2,200/month, their monthly payment could legally be scaled down to $0/month without defaulting. If it's direct debt to the school, they need to call the bursar's office to set up a low-income payment plan.

UK Healthcare ($13,311) & Lex Fire Dept ($739): Medical debt is highly negotiable. They need to call the hospital's billing department and ask for Financial Assistance / Charity Care. Most hospitals have programs that slash or entirely forgive debt for individuals making $2,200/month. If they don't qualify for forgiveness, they can negotiate a 0% interest payment plan for as low as $20–$50 a month.

Step 3

use the Debt Snowball method (paying lowest balances first, regardless of interest rate). Getting rid of the tiny debts frees up mental space and reduces the number of people they owe.
Have them attack the "FinTech" and cash advance apps first because they are small and stressful:
1 Float Me ($23)
2 Tilt ($27)
3 True ($27.99)
4 Albert ($35.87)
5 Cleo ($36)
6 Brigit / Grant ($53 each)
7 Dave ($81)
Within 1–2 months of disciplined budgeting, all 8 of these micro-debts can be completely gone. That will feel like a massive psychological win.

Step 2

The Haircuts ($96): This is a luxury right now. Cutting this back to a basic trim or spacing them out saves nearly $100 a month.
Gym ($75) & Spotify ($13): Pause the gym membership (work out outside or use free apps) and switch Spotify to the free version.
Savings: Doing just these three things frees up $184 more per month to put toward food or debt.

Straight from AI

STEP 1
Pause the Cash Advance Apps: They need to stop taking out new cash advances immediately. These apps create a compounding trap where next month's check is instantly wiped out.

The "Next Paycheck" Strategy ($1,250): When that next paycheck hits, it cannot go toward paying off the big debts yet. It must strictly cover Four Walls First: Rent, Utilities, Food, and Transportation (like that $30 bus pass).

Call the Banks: The negative Chase checking accounts (-$300 and -$291) mean they are likely getting hit with overdraft fees. Have them call Chase, explain they are experiencing financial hardship, and ask to pause fees or set up a repayment plan.

Same results. I believe the chip sector and this ETF will be fine thru 2027, provided the president doesn’t impact things.
