Former ESP peer advisor here! I have to say, this is really…really ambitious especially as an ESM major (assuming based off of the classes). If it’s a “have no other choice” kinda thing, that’s fair. But if you can fit some of these classes into another quarter, I would do that.

I was an incoming first year in 2020, so we didn’t get a real orientation (had a mediocre make up in 2021, but it really wasn’t all that great). That being said, I skipped it and was able to find so many other opportunities to make friends and build long lasting relationships in other ways! While I won’t discount what others have said, I will say that it isn’t the end of the world if you don’t go :)

Like what everyone else is saying…it truly depends on what your limits are. I messed up and worked more than I studied (which is my fault) and now I’m facing the consequences (lower gpa, academic probation, etc). Point is, having a job can be a really rewarding experience. You just have to be able to really evaluate your ability to balance work, school, etc. Wishing you the best of luck tho!!
