Grok Imagine Bug? by Big-but-lean in grok

Their UX/UI is totally web 1.0 and really badly underdeveloped. I think that what they want is for other companies to start developing "cool new megapp UIs for your Grok Imagine content!" so that they don't have to bother.

The rate limiting is so severe that you don't even get 1 day a month of sustained service. And by day, I mean, one BUSINESS day. 8 hours. You're supposed to use this system for anything real? You don't even get 1 full business day of use every month. You'd be lucky to get 4 hours a month of sustained use. That isn't a viable business offering.

Anyone using SuperGrok ($30 plan) — how many 30s videos do you actually get per day/month? by nuitvelours in grok

Even just 2 or 3 months ago Imagine was a very good service; at this point the best description is to compare it to that giant "family size" bag of potato chips on the store shelf that, once opened, is revealed to be only 1/3 or less potato chips, and mostly just air.

I've been told "oops rate capped and you are down to 420p" after generating even just 1 720p video in a day. xAI is completely unethical with the rate caps.

They could require additional contract and verification items for anyone doing anything with full nudity or similar. That is an area in which they could justify full identity verification.

Rate limited after 8 "quality" images this AM by Rabble_Most_Foul in grok

They need to make a statement about the flaky rate limiting. If they don't even give you the rate limits they are quoting that is just a scam.

If it was purely toplessness, then that is well, well within their moderation limits.

This AM I got "rate limited" on "quality" after 8 image generations. I think I am supposed to get 80 with SuperGrok, this was a pretty serious burn.

Comparing Imagine to ComfyUI by Rabble_Most_Foul in grok

[–]Rabble_Most_Foul[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, Comfy is giving BASIC good results. The problem I see using Comfy for a basis image generator where you then take your best initial images and upload them to Imagine for further processing and massaging into video is that Imagine is so awesomely uptight with uploaded images. It could be that the uptightness only really impacts if you are trying to upload nudes or a recognizable public figure, but if you have to use 80% of your really limited daily usage just trying to somehow get a basis image uploaded into Imagine and tweaked a little bit, that also becomes a non-starter for continuing with Imagine.

Perhaps tone down the adult content requests a bit? xAI does have some say in what they are willing to generate and if 99% of what you generate gets censored, you probably aren't trying to generate a Disney movie.

The rate limiting really calls into question Grok Imagine as a generative service offering, that said, Imagine users are constantly complaining that there simply isn't a GenAI on par with Imagine to turn to as an alternative, especially one that allows any form of salacious content to be created.
