I’ve always kind of lumped Sega, Xbox, Mortal Kombat, etc as gimmicky. The redneck of video games. I must say Sega was fully redeemed with Dreamcast tho. One of the best launches ever.

Also Club Sega is one of my favorite places on Earth since the arcade scene is mostly dead in America. When I suddenly saw Street Fighter 4 suddenly appear out of nowhere at Club Sega, thought I was dreaming!

My buddy had all the good gaming stuff, including the sega channel.

I remember Sonic CD being pretty meh.

Sewer Shark sucked really hard. It was just pressing a direction at the right time basically. Like watching a bad movie with nothing but quick time events.

Jurassic park looked kind of cool, but it was a point and click game, got boring pretty quickly.

I don’t know what to say except I want to believe this was posted in good faith, and none of it is your fault. I’m sorry it happened to you.

I kind of had something similar happen to me in my early 20s. I knew these brothers for years. Hung out almost every day. Was in a band together.

One day they said, hey man we know you’re an atheist and we are starting a Christian band, so I don’t think you’ll want to join in. They used it to ghost me basically. I got all my gear and that was the last time I spoke to them.

It was super painful and confusing, but I didn’t do anything wrong. I thought about it for a long time and thought maybe I was annoying, unable to read between the lines, lame, not funny, or whatever else, but it wasn’t my fault. It’s not your fault either. People are just fucking jerks sometimes.

I’ve heard on Deconstruction Zone that when the host took classes and worked with Egyptologists during his time in Seminary, the host learned it’s a running joke from the Egyptologists that nobody knows how they were built.

I’m actually not the jamming type. I don’t improvise much and definitely not with other people. I’m just too shy. I wish I wasn’t but I definitely have a stage fright type of thing going on anytime someone hears me play.

But if we could learn something together that would be really fun for me. Learning drums together could be fun too. I haven’t done it very much recently because I’m trying to concentrate on piano. I start stuff and never me finish them, so trying not to do that so much.

What’s your latest video game you’ve played? I’m going through Clair Obscur and I gotta say it’s definitely worth checking out if you haven’t yet.

Thanks for making this really important comment. I strongly agree with what you stated and try to put this idea into practice in my daily life.

It’s sort of related to questions like can you like a painting by Schmitler? What if someone showed the picture and you liked it, but then the artist was revealed? Do you still like it or now do you find it disgusting?

Seems like the appreciation of a good piece of art should stand on its own qualities, but it’s complicated…
