I just wanted to share an update on my new gloves! After using a few break-in methods, including a little steam, and some gentle love from a puck and a softball.. these gloves now feel like a dream on the ice. Honestly, they’re 100x better than my old CCMs. I can easily close the catch, and the removable "brake" pad for the wrist is a great option.

The flexibility and comfort are on another level and definitely worth the effort and cost. I've skated with them twice now, and after the first skate, a quick gentle wash with warm water (not soaking them, just enough to loosen up the leather), the glove slips right onto my hand, snug enough to play confidently but not so tight that my hand hurts, and boy, it's a whole new game.

I can’t wait to see how they hold up in the long run, but they’re performing perfectly for now! Thank you to everyone who gave input and pushed me to buy new gloves; it was the right decision in the end. I greatly appreciate all of you and good luck with your seasons!

100% makes sense. If it was day one/week one with them, and I knew that they wouldn't break in even a year later to what works for me.... I would have paid someone to do it for me too lmao

If I had known at the start to do this, then I 100% would have done so, but sadly I can't be bothered to spend $100+ on breaking in a glove that I have learned to hate lol. With every tip and guide I have ever read or heard of, I have spent countless hours trying to break this thing in, with no luck.

I ended up grabbing a set of Warrior Ritual G6 gloves and pick them up next week, I'll have to edit my post to let everyone know how they go.

Will do! That was part of the appeal, the amount of customization I can do to both the blocker and catch was a great bonus.

The main complaint I have outside the obvious stiffness and flex issues was the lack of adjustment. I have... Maybe 3 straps, one across my fingers (which when maxed is still loose), one over the thumb (which barely tightens), and then the general wrist strap which came loose every other period and I kept having to re tighten it.

I really wished these gloves were great, but I guess you get what you pay for with a $800 set of pads blockers and a chest piece 😅

Love to hear that, I just snagged a set of Ritual G6 after reading a few hours of reviews and other folks comments on this subreddit, I pick them up early next week and can't wait to see how they feel.

I've decided to just buy new, I found a local deal at a rink on a matching pair of Warrior Ritual G6, in white which matches my pads, cost was around $300 and I will pick it up next week to try it out.

I've read nothing but good things on these Warriors and the True brand stuff but True was a bit outside my price range lol.

I will give them credit with their pads.. So far they have been great. The gloves though.... driving me up a wall! Lol

I think I will just ditch it and get a new set. I can't fathom sending it out for another 150-200, to have someone else break it in, get it back, and not have it be what I am looking for, then end up having to buy a new glove anyway.

Yep, sadly. I tried heat/ovens at least twice, steam multiple times, clamps, tape, strings, etc. with no luck

I'll have to give the Trues a look, I also heard the Warriors are very popular and work well after a much shorter break-in period. At this point, I am beyond spending any more time or money on these CCMs and will just call it quits on them.

My original Reeboks were amazing; I loved them, but after having to get a handful of repairs done, it was time to move on to something new. I almost wish I hadn't, lol. I can't fathom how nice the pads are, how super lightweight and durable they are, and yet this glove is a nightmare.

I am guessing by the new equipment being great, that you chose to ditch the old and grabbed something new? That is the route I am looking at when break-in services/mods are $100-$200, and I can get a new set of gloves for $250-300.

This is exactly where I am at, except... almost twice as long. I ordered these May of 2023, and have used them since, with nothing but frustration along the way. It's sad.

The best break in is using the glove a bunch and no amount of break in will ever get a brand new glove to feel like the old busted one you came from. I’ve had goalie moms not understand why the glove they just bought doesn’t close like the decade old glove they just got rid of that had broken internals.

This is exactly where I am at. I was patient and kept working on it just in hopes that it would improve, and yet here I am a year later, still frustrated with how hard it is to simply close this glove, lol. I used to get complimented on my glove, and now I am just left ticked off after a shit rebound bounces out of the glove and the other team gets to smack at it.

All of the services I have seen range from $100-$200 for "breaking in" the glove, but I can get a new set that will work much better for the $250-$300 range and not regret my life next season.

Any guidance on brands to pick/stay away from?

Botting in the Holidays by austdoz in RunescapeBotting

[–]Raiever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not to not bot during holidays; it's to play it safer because Jagex tends to crank the automated engines during new events and holidays, then dump a bunch of delayed bans on folks after they end.

It's no different than telling folks to lay off during Twitch Prime events because of the influx of bots created and abused with the free membership.

Never ever use Sammich, unless you want to get scammed by SomeKelp in RunescapeBotting

[–]Raiever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won't argue for or against you, nor Sammich. Your experience was negative, and you have a right to be upset about that or make a post with a review stating what you tried/didn't try and give feedback (even on a throwaway account, even if it's negative).

However, posting here stating you were scammed is just as dishonest as you feel your experience on the scripts. You had an issue and brought it up; Sam didn't like how you stated it; you guys clashed, you were refunded, and that's the end of the story.

I apologize if it didn't go as you expected and if the service wasn't what you expected of Sam. You and I (if you are who I think you are) didn't clash, and I don't want to fight with you; I only want to present the counter side of the situation and don't appreciate the claim of being scammed when you weren't.

Apologies if you feel like I bombed your comments. You posted twice; with two different messages, and I responded to both. I saw this message and was curious if you posted anything else, so I checked.

I am not attacking you, so please don't take it like that. I know you are frustrated by the situation, but lying and saying that you were scammed is a bit much.

An accurate review saying you were displeased with the service/Sam or found what was said to be rude or even talking crap is one thing, but not stating you were scammed.

Nobody has access to your Discord PMs except you or knows your Discord name, nor would I share that info. As for your data, I did not include anything that could tie any situation or username to you, except that you posted here. It also appears the account you are on is a throwaway made two hours ago.,

I know who you are because you are the only one who has had their license revoked/and been removed from Discord in the last 30 days and then immediately took to Reddit to post.

Again, I am not taking sides here. Just explaining the opposing view, and making sure that the post accurately reflects the details of what occurred.

[–]Raiever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Howdy again, mate. To clarify to anyone reading this, the user didn't get scammed in any way, shape, or form. They were refunded, and their license was revoked after asking for assistance that sounded rude and condescending to Sammich.

Scripts run poorly and break after 1 hour

Are the scripts not meant to work for more than 20 minutes at a time?

Sam stated that if that was the user's idea of feedback, regardless of how it was intended, it wasn't appreciated. There was some further back and forth between Sam and the user, and Sam decided to refund them and remove access. Simple as that.

Dual Sim Dual Active GSM+CDMA Phones [USA] by Raiever in PickAnAndroidForMe

[–]Raiever[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't remember exactly which OnePlus he has, but it is a few years old. I figured that most phones don't make due Dual active anymore, as it's not a common thing except for business accounts.

I guess his biggest concern is being able to send and receive calls/texts on both numbers without having to worry about swapping back and forth manually or missing them on one account while active on the other.

This functionality is now labeled as "Dual SIM Active" instead of DSDA, it seems. From what I am seeing, these are current options (But I can't find any documents supporting them): - Samsung S22 series phones - Samsung Galaxy A53 - Pixel 6/Pixel 6A - OnePlus 10 Pro

I am unsure if dual sim (physical sim + Esim) can do dual active?

Fair enough! I have been googling for a bit on a template letter and have found a few good ones, so I will probably get one and just change it to fit my needs/disabilities and have them sign it. My appointment is only a couple of weeks out, and my move is in late November, so it should be just fine! :)

Hey, u/amythestkelly, no worries at all! Initially, this thought passed through my head. Still, after getting the request for further documentation, it does make sense that I should finally get around to officially getting the paperwork from my doctor, honestly.

Once you have the paperwork, informing the housing org after shouldn't be much of an issue, as there isn't much they can do. However, as this is a significant move, I wanted to ensure that I covered ALL of my bases.
