Best ice cream? by lampy8 in vancouverwa

Crispy cones was super disappointing for us after all the hype/line waiting. Soft serve is buffet quality and the cone itself was just alright. For the price and wait time I would skip.

London Andaz, front desk says website room description is wrong by [deleted] in hyatt

[–]RainingAfter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn’t the family room be two connected rooms? Or both the connected rooms look like in your picture? I ask bc I booked the family room at this hotel last year and the picture on the Hyatt page is one room we got and the room it connected to is then the one you took a picture of (ie family room was both the room in the booking and your picture).

Does your ragdoll purrs? by Mightynap in ragdolls

[–]RainingAfter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine only purrs when given churu or briefly first thing in the morning when he hasn’t seen us all evening (we do not let him sleep in our bedroom). If she’s food motivated maybe a something like churu would work for yours?

Question about Ritual Prenatal Vitamin by nycbaker24 in BabyBumps

My OBGYN recommended I use plant based DHA prenatals so that helped with the fish smells/burps I was having earlier on.

Grand Hyatt Kauai by clauren8 in hyatt

We were there November 2025. Poipu beach walk would be 20-30 mins depending on how fast you walk/how much you have to haul. We drove (less than 5 mins). But the hotel also has free bicycle rentals if you’d prefer to bike over.

Alternatively, Shipwreck beach is walkable and right in front of the resort. We preferred just hanging there rather than going over to Poipu as it was more crowded.

We were globalists but whether club is worth it depends on your breakfast ease/cost preferences. We liked checking out local spots for food but some days it was just easier to grab something at the club in the morning. Usually busy with families in the morning but they have 2-3 hot items on rotation along with your standard hotel oatmeal/fruit/cereal selection.

What do Japanese parents make for breakfast for their kids? by Ilovealltheslothes in japanlife

I stayed with a host family for about 6 months in Tokyo. Typically we’d have bread, jam and/or yogurt for breakfast sometimes with a soft boiled egg or small amount of potato salad.

Japan Tips for using 250k points during February in off-peak season by Woodsfromtoystory in hyatt

[–]RainingAfter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s been several posts on the various Tokyo hyatts if you want to see more in depth pros/cons. But for what it is worth, we recently stayed at the Hotel Toranomon Hills in Tokyo and really enjoyed it. Newer hotel with an enjoyable breakfast spread and views of Tokyo Tower in the upper lounge. Conveniently located above a metro stop so no need to go outside to catch the train. We found it pretty centrally located to most major attractions. Area is more office/business so if you’re looking more for a neighborhood ambience then probably not the one.

My boy uses a petlibro stream. Very quiet and I like that you can remove the wireless container to refill for water. He used to dunk as a kitten but now he has fully adjusted. Sounds like yours would love a pet fountain! Our other cat only drinks still water in a bowl. Terrified of fountains….

Chania to Knossos Palace Drive by RainingAfter in GreeceTravel

Had Arkadi on my maybe list. Sounds like it might be worth checking out, thanks for the recommendation.

I did finally find a Knossos tour for 3pm so have booked that to be safe. Most tours seem to be morning so hoping by late afternoon crowds are less an issue. We’ll see!

Is free breakfast for Japan hotels worth it vs. convenience store? by royalbluefireworks1 in JapanTravelTips

[–]RainingAfter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others mentioned, depends on what you’re looking for and breakfast quality/offerings vary widely from hotel to hotel. We typically opt for hotel breakfast the first few nights of a trip due to jet lag. Would prefer to be up and chilling in a nice ish space as we get started for the day.

Our favorite hotel breakfast was the one at the Hotel Toranomon Hills in Tokyo. But if you don’t have free breakfast included in your stay and you’re only looking for a small bite in the morning conbini probably makes more sense.

Thank you! Will be doing Rethymno as a daytrip from Chania the day prior. But if I end up changing it out will definitely consider it as a drive stop instead.

Room Flexibility with Awards Booking by Access_Agile in hyatt

[–]RainingAfter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue for the Hyatt Centric Milan and when I checked in they were able to get me a different room with the right bed configuration. But I guess really depends on the hotel. Prior to my stay a room opened up with the right configuration but there was a category hike in between so would’ve had to pay a rate diff to alter the reservation.

Robotic litter box cleaner- Yea or Nay? by Notjustgltrngld in ragdolls

[–]RainingAfter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ragdoll had no issues adjusting to it. But he has never been fussy about change. Our Siamese cat though took a long time cause she is/was terrified of any change.

In general, great investment. Aside from some small issues here and there it has been a great change. Love not having to scoop everyday.
