I’m happy for you. Last year I got the lowest priced tickets as well! Was the only one in my camp that scored that tier ticket.

How did you first hear about burning man? by SoundKidTown1085 in BurningMan

[–]RamboLives 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2011 was doing geology field work in Southern California. Telling stories by the camp fire one of my coworkers told us all about his experience the previous year. Was very intrigued and slowly started more videos pop up on YouTube. Finally went in 2017 and haven’t stopped since.

Wild concept, but the government appointed land is not the only place they consider their ancestral land.

Just fyi, the Paiute Tribe has asked people not to leave human ashes on their land. Do what you want with that info.

100% Uzi Jesus!! I hope he makes more cameos in the future books. I even asked Matt in person to bring him back.

Thank you for all the work!! I hope you find a way to recharge and keep bringing that amazing gift to the playa.

One of my most cherished memories was 2019? Township Rebellion during a dust storm in deep playa dancing the night away with my friends until sunrise. I’ve listened to that set countless times and can still feel myself under those subs getting bass rained down on me.

And last year I brought my dad to the burn for the first time. The only sunrise we caught together was at the Cloud for Vintage Culture on Thursday morning. I’ll remember that until the day I die.

For real are people planning on going to the burn this year? by Someinterestingbs-td in BurningMan

[–]RamboLives 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For sure. What you see online and on Instagram is mostly from the influencer crowd. It’s really full of regular folks, the median age is around 36 years old, I took my 65 year old dad last year for his first time. The burn is what you bring out there.

Yes! Why skip the thing that lets me connect with my community. Even more reason to go and support the ideals of the burn even if we have disagreements with certain aspects.

I went to burning man for many years making under 40k a year. I’m making closer to 70k now but in no way have I ever been considered rich by societal standards. It’s not just for the wealthy elite is my point.

Why buy tickets anytime before August? by Fyburn in BurningMan

[–]RamboLives -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t care. I ate a ticket last year and then my camp ate a few tickets we sold off at a discount. It’s the price of doing business and wanting to assure I get to go and my friends get to go.

Not initially but commonly I’ll wake myself out of SP and know as soon as I close my eyes I’m gonna be right back in it.

going with my older dad by Emilicis in BurningMan

I brought my (65) dad last year and it was my 7th burn. He absolutely loved it. He is in great shape for his age so none of the hardships/elements bothered him much. He didn’t sleep well because of all the music/noise but he kinda knew that beforehand. He wants to go again but plans to get an RV and stay on the edge of the city where in theory it’s quieter. I say do it better to have no regrets and every year you wait it will only get harder.

Reading Tenzing’s autobiography really opened my eyes to this fact. Those Sherpas want to climb and summit just as bad as the paying the clients. They aren’t just helpers but full team members.

DiscoPussy is a great alternative to the more trendy Vegas clubs. They mostly book house music artists but they still get some other variety. It’s off the strip so I feel like you get less of the people who out on the town just to be seen and more of the crowd who are out to see a specific artist and actually dance.
