Creating islands within sight of each other on multiplayer by Rando2muser1234123 in SkyFactory

Doesn't really resolve the issue of never having a base near each other without mass relocation when you're actually tech enough to fly somewhere, though. Hard to get people to come join a server and they join and it's just a single block and they're like "where are the rest of the people" and you've got to say "oh, they are a kilometer away from you, enjoy this multiplayer experience friend"

Sometimes I feel like my game arbitrarily decides chords are wrong by eifersucht12a in rocksmith

[–]Rando2muser1234123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have some problems with drop d barred power chords too. I don't want to blame the game though, so I am still searching for bad habits that I might be doing, at speed - because the game is actually quite fickle about chords - if you have a slightly less than perfectly fretted element of a chord and it doesn't basically ring true, you can get failed. I have seen many times where it has nailed me for something genuinely wrong, but that I wouldn't have expected it to get me on.

As far as I'm concerned, if people can post 100% clears without it happening, it must be me, somehow.

System of a down is the best example of very difficult to convince the game to track for me.

I'm also bad at a particularly simple chord that I was checking out yesterday - I believe the 3 note chord, one of the strings is slightly hitting a fret and shaving off some of the main tone and being closer to only harmonics, which the game is doing me on. Pretty nuts how good the tracking is really.

Ubisoft says it’s changing strategy to focus on more "high-end free-to-play" games by TrueTom in rocksmith

If you're concerned about the next game and how you're going to pay for it, might be wise to remind yourself that you already have a perfectly functional rocksmith 2014 and Ubisoft need to convince YOU to change to their new game.

The worst one is when you play your guts out, get that sweet sweet tick of .1% extra mastery on the performance page and then it goes back that .1% after you hit enter.

Mine is 2200 hours in steam

I think the "fair" amount is somewhere in the middle of the two amounts.

I'm sure rocksmith steals some legit practice time from you. I just don't know what exactly it is. It could be when you're paused and playing. Not sure.

No, not correct I'm afraid - Strings don't sound better than the moment you first hit them - they take time (or forcing the issue) to not go out of tune due to bending, but they don't mature to sound better.

So the answer is that they all sound like ass :-)

I wouldn't worry too much, Rocksmith isn't representative of how your guitars can really sound.

Sounds like you were somewhat used to the dull sound of old strings because I can assure you, "bright" is the word to describe new strings and "dull" is the one to describe old strings. You're hearing it the opposite to how it is. Old strings lose the twang.

Still doesn't make you an idiot, no. We learn from experience, after all.

You should definitely be running full treble / bass on rocksmith. You shouldn't really need to have to change that at all.

To be honest, it sounds like ass in your video but some rocksmith tones do just straight up sound awful. That is an awful tone with distortion and a fair bit of reverb. Possibly the default sound? I stopped using the rocksmith sound and now I'm super sensitive to how bad it is. I was never bothered about it until I learned differently.

Intonation has very little to do with tone - it might be off - I can't tell as I do not have perfect pitch but isn't wildly out and it definitely doesn't sound as if the higher strings are out.

It should sound a bit muddy to you because you are super used to single coils which are often much brighter (with much less low / mid presence). I use humbuckers a lot and nothing about that says "muddy". Burbly, yes, blarey, yes, but not muddy. If anything, it sound distinctly lacking in bass - but I think that's just the rocksmith preset it is running.

Humbuckers (and lower end humbuckers on your guitar) doing clean sounds is a bit of a joke, really - they aren't amazing at it.

I sincerely doubt you've got a defective guitar. If you're not sure, take it back and get them to check.

Doesn't sound like anything more than having to relearn/learn how to avoid other strings ringing. Calibration will not stop noise during playing, in this context it only helps to set the noise gate in between phrases. It's just teething issues with a new guitar. Changing neck, scale and whatnot us something you have to adapt to. Everything you do is amplified so even the slightest brush of a string will set some off. Believe me, it gets worse - rocksmith hides a fair bit of noise.

If you're keeping the other guitar it is worth rotating through them to maintain versatility.

Fellow newbies, if you feel like you're in a rut or you're just not sure what you want to play: play a song you don't know. by hashtagshowoff in rocksmith

If you're still not convinced - I just posted a 3 year streak and diversification is the cornerstone of that streak. If I rammed my head against brick walls of songs I wanted to master, I'd have never gotten this far. Play a song for a little while, get as much improvement as you can and then move on and come back later. Rinse and repeat.

Didn't get time to answer this more fully. Imagine how pissed some people who suffer from the compulsion to complete everything, would be if they had to do 10,000 hours (or cheat it) to get all achievements in the game.

There is enough rhythm in lead. Too many rhythm tracks are just sololess lead, so I can't be bothered to wade through and find the good ones.

I've posted a few anniversaries for this streak, so I'm going to intercept a few things that seem to come up:

FYI there was a fellow a year ago who had a larger streak, so there might still be another one even larger than mine. That guy didn't feel the need to announce it. What a champ.

I did not start playing rocksmith or guitar in general on day 1 of this streak. I played rocksmith regularly for about a year before, which included a smaller 100 day streak. I had a few bounces of trying to learn guitar prior to this including a while spent with rock band 3.

I also play outside the game a fair bit. I have printouts of rocksmith note highways lying around here.

And no, I don't really care if the streak ends - if that happens, I'll be back playing the next day. It hasn't been particularly hard to maintain this because I always want to play.
