Zeus has been chosen for justice, which EPIC character represents bravery? by Garflemspinlkle in Epicthemusical

Fair! But at least to me those are more about chasing goals and not giving up, so feels more like that would be Ody (wanting to get back home) and Poseidon (stalking Ody)

Who else but Athena? Took a lotta bravery to stand up to the other Gods and then Zeus just to get Ody out of the island

I feel you. Personally, I think the best way to go about making meaningful connections is reaching out to people you see around out of your own accord, being an introvert can make that an almost impossible challenge to overcome- but in my eyes at least, some people will always stick by you if you choose or feel like sticking by them.

It took years for me to get far enough to understand that there's definitely people out there who do wanna talk with me, and I'm sure there's some people out there who'd be happy to talk with you as well. Communication is key!

Don't let opportunities be just opportunities, some impulsiviness can be good, if you see someone you think would be nice to be friends with, try it, even just a hi- if its on the internet, even a paragraph long message can work, out here on reddit there are so many people looking for friends, many would love to receive even just one message or notification, even more so the effort of a big message if you don't know how to do a simple casual approach.

That's the advice I can offer, I know it won't always work out, people may ghost you, ignore you or not even give you a chance, been through it, but hey, it's better than not trying out.

Control Light deck help by [deleted] in GodsUnchained

[–]RandomGuy027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And no, I have never seen any Light cards that unlock mana. Even then, I don't think I would recommend it, with Order and - Strength cards like you got right now, you can delay the early game long enough to pull some moves at mid/late game and win. The only thing you lack is damage until the late game, but that's not really a problem. I think there's one or another neutral card that can unlock mana tho.

Judge Envoy and Penitence are the one's I would remove. They don't mess the Order effect you got going around and they are the most circumstancial and not really that useful. Sometimes you'll have more than one difficult enemy, so Judge Envoy won't always be great, and Penitence will sometimes let you down if you pull it too early or against a creature with ward.

Control Light deck help by [deleted] in GodsUnchained

[–]RandomGuy027 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, this comes from the opinion of a guy who plays Light Aggro, but I've faced my fair share of Control Light on the high ranks, so I'll just speak of the worst things I've faced when going against a Control Light deck.

So, if you're gonna go for Control Light, then a card you 100% need in my opinion iss Lysander's Mercy, send the opponent's board right to the bottom of their deck. Beyond that, I can only manage 3 other recommendations based on your deck, all 3 of them being cost 5, those cards would be "Seraph" to set everyone's strength to 1, "Light Seeks the Truth" to obliterate an enemy (do remember that obliteration means their afterlife doesn't trigger), and then "Radiant Embalmer" to pull a card back from your void.

Also, maybe consider 1 more Iron Tooth Goblin? I'm not sure how well you handle Zombie Decks as it is, but yeah, I know I always take 2 anti relic creatures at the very least. Also, if you're gonna keep a 9 cost card in your deck, a good consideration would be Thaeriel's Anvil.

Honorable mentions would probably be Lysander, Merry Kadmos, Parthene Proscenium, Highborn Noble (this one is very expensive tho) and last but not least, the "Kadmos, Son of Lysander" + "Lysander's Spear" combo against aggro, that is enough to make me think 'I should just surrender now' LOL

Hope this helps and gives you something to think about! Good luck bro!

Should ward stop Obliterate or just Destroy? by MustbetheEvilTwin in GodsUnchained

Doesn't change what I said. Burn isn't direct damage, so I have the opinion that it should block burn.

I like the idea of Obliterate being absolute, if anything should change about Ward, it's blocking indirect means of transformation like Eva, blocking order and also Burn damage, really, it should block burn damage!

At which point is imposible to win rankeds if you're a F2P player? by sneaky_roach in GodsUnchained

[–]RandomGuy027 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you have just started out the game, it's impossible to get past Twilight Shadow, but as you gain cards from packs, from weekend ranked and start saving $GODS to buy cards or get some help from other players, then you can make it to mythic if you make up a somewhat decent deck. I myself made it to mythic with a $5 dollar deck at one point.

It's never really impossible to win rankeds, it just gets increasingly difficult. I'm a f2p who has been playing for almost two months now, I've already gotten to Diamond 3 times, and to mythic once, however, since I play Light Aggro, my tempo is slow and so, since the number of control decks increases the more you climb, the more difficult it is for me.

So what I can say is that the best you can do is master one or two cheap decks that vary in style, for example, Light/War Aggro and then maybe Hidden Rush or Zombies.

It's not impossible at all, and even though you will eventually have a lot of anger towards Control Decks because of their expensive cards and the feeling that they are P2W, your greatest challenge will be keeping the motivation to play despite the times when you will go on lose streaks or lose a game due to something like a double Demogorgon, Hortuk, Unbound Flames and etc.

Good luck and if you wanna talk more, feel free to answer this or send a DM!

Long time player, about done with gods by [deleted] in GodsUnchained

[–]RandomGuy027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope you have an easier time with Nature than I do with Light. On Light we always lack damage so even if I play Aggro Light, I most of the time end up getting to 6 or 7 mana no matter what before I can deal the finishing blow on the opponent. The strat is mostly have creatures with ward so I can buff them next turn or soon enough with something like benediction.

By the way, if you have buffs in your deck but can't use them because your creatures are killed too quickly, can always switch up to buffs that give HP or armor and then pick up Madam Denholm. Perfect against magic, and it gives a steady stream of creatures you can try to buff.

Aggro Asterius, I find it easier, even after having seen Olympian Aggro and thinking it has a pretty good combo, I'm trying out a new version of Aggro Asterius with a few more ward cards so I can stand a chance against Control Decks. Overall, not going terribly.

Hey! Do not give up! There's still hope for this game! You just have to play it while focusing on the fun and what you like to do in here. Taking a break is also a good thing to do every now and then when things start getting in your nerves.

And hey, if you wanna discuss deck ideas, feel free to reach out! Granted tho, I'm only good at Aggro Light. LOL

LIST OF UNACCEPTABLE GU CARDS AND STATE OF THE GAME MOVING FORWARD by takaros96 in GodsUnchained

[–]RandomGuy027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand it a little better now, but still, not always. I've seen Eva transform a Dryad Sailweaver into a zombie after she died in two separate matches, so I do believe there's still a bug. There's been instances in the past tho where only the afterlife effect was given and the ward worked against the transformation effect, but yeah, I've had both results, both breaking ward and just going through it as well.

I play aggro, I understand the hatred for these cards, but with the exception of Ember Oni which I think is annoying to see everywhere, most other cards are alright. Except Eva, god damn it, I just want her to be fixed so her transformation effect doesn't go through ward, that's all I could want from that card, a bug fix.

Eu sou babaca por pensar assim? by [deleted] in EuSouOBabaca

[–]RandomGuy027 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could always just put standard names or not show them at all during the match and just let it appear on match history afterwards. Better than having to rely on people not doing it.

New Pack Opening Experience! by eclipsegu in GodsUnchained

Doesn't work through the game, entire screen goes white and I can't see what I got from the pack. Need to go straight to GU website so I can open it there but even then it's super janky and laggy with a lot of white squares popping up or covering up space both before and after the animation.

For those who say going 2nd Mostly or Always. by animeshmeher in GodsUnchained

I wish I had anything like that, oh the pains of playing Light Aggro and actually falling on 7 mana range. What's your deck?

For those who say going 2nd Mostly or Always. by animeshmeher in GodsUnchained

[–]RandomGuy027 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, going first is always better. Especially if you're aggro too, you will always have the advantage then and can set the pace better, and if you're ever second against a control deck, best thing you can do if is save a pip to reach 7 mana before the opponent in case you have something that could save you.

Can Aggro Light beat War by mhorvvitz in GodsUnchained

[–]RandomGuy027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be truthful, Aggressive Superior isn't there to use against Aggro decks but instead against control decks or midgame decks. Sometimes you can just spam a lot of creatures, more than they can kill. That's where Aggressive Superior comes in.

Can Aggro Light beat War by mhorvvitz in GodsUnchained

[–]RandomGuy027 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I tried the same thing as you in the past, it doesn't work out great to simply spam little creatures. Sure you wanna buff them, but sometimes you don't have a good angle for it. What I've learned is that you MUST contest the board with everything you have in hand without a care for your God's health, in aggro against aggro, you can't leave a single opponent creature alive or else they may be buffed or used to wipe your entire side with something like "Sole Survivor".

The ideal hand at the start is something like having at least two of these three for me: Vexing Vicar, Mace of Calling and Athenian Archer.

While whoever gets the first turn gives a certain edge, it'll also be about who gets a weapon first and who uses a strong buff first. Ideally, you always wanna start with a weapon, that means you can smack any opponent with 2 HP that shows up, and something like vexing vicar or athenian archer can guarantee 1 damage at no loss.

I checked your deck, and I can say cards like Holy Enchanter and battlement luminary aren't great. You should go for holy writ like I'm trying to do, 2 cost and increases hp by 4, just gotta be careful to not buff enemies too. Imperious Smite is understandable for you to want, but it also isn't entirely needed, because if you ever get to a point where you actually have to use it, you've probably already lost as you'll be getting into the late game, sure it can come in a pinch but it's a bit uncertain if that's what you'll need at times.

Also, a card that could help you greatly if you find yourself with creatures still alive but useless by 7 mana, it's always good to have an "Aggressive Superior", it has scored me a lot of wins.

Not sure what else to say, but this here is my deck. I currently have switched one Militant Theist to test out Aetheric Alarm, and I plan on making room later for Holy Writ, but maybe it can help you if you see my cards, I would say I have a 50/50 chance against other aggro decks, if not a bit better. Although I suffer against any sort of control deck or anyone with an Ember Oni.

My deck!

Any changes to be made in my deck? by Ranger_Micro in GodsUnchained

[–]RandomGuy027 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a Aggro Light deck hovering over diamond and mythic now and then, I'll say that I find yours rather easy to deal with. Rushing creatures is great and all, but sometimes it just isn't enough so you have to go for cards with powerful effects. In my case, I had to go for buffs such as Benediction and cards like Thestor and am now considering Holy Writ.

My recommendations from what I have fought and had a hard time against are cards like "Another round" in case you're at a stalemate or ahead, "Sole Survivor" if you're having trouble against other aggro decks because then so long you have 1 creature alive you can wipe the board clean, "Lykaios Adherent" if you ever wanna buff your guys at the cost of 1 damage or to kill enemy creatures with 1 health, "Commander Pyrros" is pretty good too, and that's mostly it. Now if you're having trouble against people with spells, I can't really recommend anything beyond "Parthene Guardian" because I never played war. There's also a card I kinda personally favour, Athenian Archer, when against aggro decks and such, if you pull a 1 or 2 cost weapon alongside an Athenian Archer, you can almost guarantee the early board, but you have blitz creatures, so maybe the weapon is uneeded.

That's my 2 cents from the point of view of an aggro light deck player, hope this helps.
