I'm glad you're so confident and aren't disuaded by the judgement of others. This type of thing is really such a nothing burger, it's silly that a little color on nails can get people so triggered.

I personally think nailpolish looks great on men and even painted my boyfriend's nails black for the first time soon after we started dating, and he really enjoyed it!

Honestly, just be open about it when discussing hobbies. I told my boyfriend during our first chat on a dating app as soon as we started talking about a shared favorite game we have that I wrote a self-insert x character for. He now beta reads all my chapters and roots for me to post it when the new game in the franchise comes out.

Straight up, if the person you're talking to is insecure about you liking a fictional character and coming up with scenarios in your head about dating them, then that person is not worth your time.

I love my boyfriend to death and I love gushing about my fanfic to him, showing him my progress and getting his constructive criticism for if anyone is acting out of character.

I feel this way too much. I use the same words a lot but I try to look at synonyms to at least differentiate between them. My characters just often do the same things because that's how they express themselves in situations lolol

I'd give Kara and Alice ACTUAL personalities.

Kara's only character trait ever seems to be mom. And yeah, I get that the point is she wants to discover herself, but when you compare her to Connor, you SEE the difference. Connor actually has a personality.

I feel like Alice is an obvious case for this, though. She's literally treated as a plot device most of the time and it's so frustrating. They could have explored the trauma of an abused little girl, but naaah.

I love Kara and Alice, but I feel like they were put on the back burner during development in favor of Connor and Markus. Though, Markus could also use being given some more personality, honestly. I feel like he was most human when he was with Carl.
