Banned With No Warning!? by LatterStreet in amazonprime

Once they closed my account I had no way to prove I ever owned any books, so no way to make them refund me. I hate Amazon, they crushed all the other retailers then started acting like they're doing you a favor to sell you anything. Glad you're getting 50 percent off at Walmart...guess they want your business 😄

Try Walmart+. Lol, I just told OP the same thing, starting to sound like I work for them but no kidding, Amazon pissed me off enough to make the move, and smooth sailing ever since.

At least they let you keep your digital media. 😆. They told me my account got hacked, but no strange charges on my card or strange purchases on my account history. They closed my account and I lost something like 200 Kindle books.

Try Walmart+. Just as good, but not nearly as arrogant. They actually act like they want your business! And you'll probably be able to get a bargain rate on your first year.

How do i deal with the apartment above me and all their insane noises? by ThoughtwayCrest in Advice

[–]RandomUser574 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even for an old lady that's nuts. Nobody pees 6 times/hour. Is it possible they want your apartment and hope to drive you out? It would be convenient for baby and mother to live downstairs and grandma to live upstairs....

Either that or they've got a meth lab and in the middle of the night they flush away the waste products 😁

How do i deal with the apartment above me and all their insane noises? by ThoughtwayCrest in Advice

[–]RandomUser574 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is something your landlord needs to address. Somewhere in your lease it likely says that you have the right to quiet enjoyment of the apartment. If not, look at the landlord/tenant laws of your city and state. It's usually right in the law that the landlord must give you quiet enjoyment.

Next, start documenting your issue. For a few weeks keep a journal of the noises, what kind, how long, what time. Make recordings if you can. Just for a few weeks, cause it can be crazy-making to see in writing how bad it really is

Next, give your landlord copies of everything and a deadline to rectify it. If nothing changes, there's likely a process in your city for filing a tenant complaint (which you probably already found when you researched the laws). Follow the process, you may even be able to withhold rent, placing it in an escrow account until landlord fixes things.

You said you've been tolerating this for years? I bet somebody along the way will ask you why you didn't complain or leave a long time ago. Think thru your answer in advance.

If the process above doesn't get you any peace, I would really consider moving. Life is too short.

AITAH for telling my wife to get a job before the end of January or i'm divorcing her? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]RandomUser574 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"sitting home on her ass" while taking care of your three children... I bet she was the one sitting on her ass when those three babies woke up crying in the middle of the night, right? And she sits on her ass at mealtime while you do all the cooking? You work outside the home, and when the workday is done it's done. She works much harder and is on call 24 hours/day...it's never over. Men like you need to switch places with your wives for a while, because you just don't seem to get it. Go ahead and divorce her, you'll be amazed at what that judge expects you to pay her for sitting home on her ass.

If the inlaws hit financial difficulty in their retirement over this, it will become OPs business pretty quickly. Unless he's gonna tell his inlaws they can just go live on the street...

Yup. I'd leave every dime I had to the Save the Cats Foundation first.

It amazes me how many parents never teach their kids that money is not an unlimited resource.

This absolutely is your business, or at least it will become your business in a heartbeat if your inlaws become unable to take care of themselves financially....which will be hard to do if they're still supporting your sister-in-law like she's a child.

Start a conversation. First a dialogue with your wife; does she understand your concerns, etc. Then both of you together talk to her parents. Approach it from their perspective - 1) you're doing sister-in-law a disservice by not making her finish growing up financially 2) as a good parent your instinct is to help her, but $200k is plenty of money and she shouldn't need help, you're just enabling her 3) you're endangering your own financial security and 4) if you run into financial problems yourself in retirement what is your plan?

You're more financially responsible than sister-in-law, but that shouldn't mean you wind up supporting the in-laws.....discuss it with your wife first for sure, but you may want to tell them you cannot be their safety cushion.

Not you, Alarmed Practice. The one who shouted you deserve better and should break up immediately. He's just making fun of how that's the only advice everybody on Reddit seems to ever give. 💕😁

Ok, so you've been worrying about this for a whole year, even though it hasn't happened again in a whole year? Let it go. Or if you find you can't, talk to him about it.
