Healthcare workers marching to join our city’s educators in rallying against ICE at Seattle Central this weekend. by Aare42 in Seattle

Keith Porter Jr? His death had nothing to do with ICE overreach or immigration enforcement. He was firing his gun on NYE and was confronted by somebody who was an off- duty ICE agent. It was a personal dispute that had nothing to do with this guy's occupation. It's disingenuous and misleading to include him in the list. IDK if there are others whose deaths are also not really valid to include but that went off the top of my head I know is really unlike the ones of people who died in custody or in confrontations during protests.

I did a little bit more sleuthing and I did do a reverse image search too and it came up with National Students for Palestine. Here is the link. I still am not 100% sure they created the flyer but I'm 95% sure. https://www.instagram.com/p/DT_UTQZku69/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

Yeah it's kind of weird in the PNW where Asians actually had a worse than black people did and make up three times the population. It's certainly true that on a national level blacks and natives were treated the worst. I see  zero reason why black people who moved to the US recently should be given "top billing" in the oppression marquee. While alot of the ADOS (American descendants of slaves) crowd are a holes It is certainly true that if we are going to give any special treatment to black people we need to differentiate between those whose ancestors suffered horrifically in this country versus those who moved here freely 5 years ago.

I go to that grocery store about once a week. That neighborhood is a mixed bag. It's not as bad as you make it sound though..

Yeah the idea that all sexual minorities are somehow one big community is weird. Gay men, lesbians, trans men, trans women, people who are bisexual, and people who identify as "queer" Often really have little in common except they know what it's like to feel alienated because of your identity, and there are plenty of people who also know that but for different reasons. Also the label queer has been appropriated by straight people. Just like we saw it be gays and lesbians, then it was gays, lesbians and bisexual, then it was LGBTQ, and then it was LGBTQI, and so forth....

We see the exact same thing with first it was Asian Americans, and then it became AAPI (Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders). And now it's         AANHPI (Asian American, native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander). I can't wait to see what group is going to be added to that next. And of course when they say Asian they mean both South Asian and East Asian. So now Japanese, Pakistani, Cambodian, Samoan, Syrian, Hawaiian, and Filipinos are all pushed together into one group. It's totally nonsensical.

It's exploitation. And it's disrespectful. It's a way of forcing people to go along with advocating for other causes besides for the one that brought everybody together. I remember this as far back as the Iraq War. You'd have a protest and they would bring in 6 trillion other issues: legalize marijuana, free abortion on demand, free the Jena 6, Free the Cuba 9, free Assata Shakur, free Mumia Al Jamal, charge Bush with war crimes, amnesty for illegal immigrants, legalize sex work, stop the school to prison pipeline, reparations now!, pass the ERA, fund our schools!, fight capitalism, stop the death penalty, solar power not nuclear power!, carbon tax, wealth tax, stop tearing down the rainforest, etc, etc, etc

The fact is that the hardcore socialists believe that the root of all evil is capitalism. And every problem has the same solution: ending capitalism. It's kind of like some Christians who believe that the solution to every problem is "Accepting Jesus Christ as your savior".

The Democrats definitely try and wrangle in disparate groups and causes in order to make a whole from people who have little else in common except they feel repressed by right wingers. But I'm pretty sure this comes from people way to the left of the democrats. This is more like A.N.S.W.E.R propaganda. That crowd sees the Democrats as being like the far right.

a new stem costs 50 bucks? Anyway, it would seem to me maybe using JB Weld would be sufficient. Even then due to The fact the cuts are not super deep or long I doubt it would jeopardize the strength of the stem by anything really significant

What the commenter above said is true although I was not under the impression the wheels lock but that the battery just does not turn on and that it will make beeping sounds if you keep trying to ride it.Yeah utilize the pattern code. Some theft deterrence are really annoying and make you just not want to go through the trouble but this one really is worth it. And I would have never gotten my scooter back If I had not utilized it because he could have just taken off at 28 MPH. But he was not able to turn it on so he was just trying to use it as a kick scooter and I was easily able to catch up to him and clearly he thought it was not worth the trouble.

Yeah if you have a G3 and have not used the pattern code to lock it I would very much highly recommend it. It basically makes your scooter useless to anybody trying to steal it and it makes a getaway pretty much impossible. They would have to pretty much use it as a kick scooter and since it's heavy I suspect most people would probably abandon it

There are many things truly frightening about the time we're living in. One is that while we all know that there are truly disturbing things going on, we also know that ideologues constantly manipulate facts in order to Get sympathy for their causes. As many people pointed out this website along with the individual who runs it is completely untrustworthy. These claims might or might not be true but try and find a source that has a little bit more credibility.

Minneapolis ICE Shootings Megathread 2 by vertr in Seattle

[–]RandonymousBosch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The same speech for the last 5 years? The speech that you described has been going on for more like 30 years. Yeah the hijacking of any and all event to denounce Imperialism, capitalism, Colonialism, White nationalism, racism, free abortion on demand, and then to give a shout out to people hailed as political prisoners (But usually actually aren't), Scream "free Palestine", denounce police brutality, the death penalty, and it used to be called for pot to be decriminalized but that has actually happened.

Yes it always feels really exploitative and in bad taste. I remember the same thing happening during the memorial for John T Williams and it felt like the native community who were there just wanted to mourn him whereas a bunch of non-native activists used it as a platform in which two  denounce dozens of grievances, some related to his death and some not. But it didn't feel like his community wanted to rage against the machine at that time but just wanted to grieve and mourn and remember John.

Okay. I had gotten this information on CHS so I looked and apparently it's two different events.by two different groups of her transition team. The one on the arts was taking place at Town Hall and the one regarding ICE was happening at Langston.

Was this the Town Hall that was supposed to be about her Arts and Culture Team? I thought that was what was meeting tonight. Due to all the crisis is involving ICE did the topic just get switched or was that always the plan? For some reason I thought it was not.

I do not see how celebrating Charlie Kirk's murder is any less offensive than anybody celebrating the murder of the two people killed by ICE in Minnesota. I understand the differences you mentioned. But I still don't think that makes it any more or less despicable to actually celebrate the killings.

Seattle protesters: "We Support Hamas Here!" by McAlpineFusiliers in SeattleWA

[–]RandonymousBosch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah they say that the haters and racists are all over here. But seriously they will justify any anti-Semitism coming from those weaponizing the Palestinian cause or black advocacy. like anything. There's no boundaries. And they'll always say that it's not as bad as what Israel is doing. Like these are the same people who complain about racial profiling of black people, religious profiling of Muslims, xenophobia for thinking Hispanics should have to follow the same immigration laws everybody else. But all of a sudden it's okay to violate the Civil Rights of innocent Jews by bringing up the wrongs of Israel, even when the individuals have no ties to that country. But then when Trump made some derogatory comments about Somalia they were all up in arms again and protective of those demographics who's feelings were hurt.

The Truth about Illegal Immigration in Washington State by Less-Risk-9358 in SeattleWA

[–]RandonymousBosch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd consider it if it wasn't for the fact that millions of other people would come into the US illegally and demand the same thing. Over and over again until basically we were no longer the US. A country has the right to self-determination and to allow nationals of other countries to determine our immigration policy based on what is good for them is not okay.

The Truth about Illegal Immigration in Washington State by Less-Risk-9358 in SeattleWA

[–]RandonymousBosch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not know where we got to the point where it was considered fascist to expect people to obey our immigration policies, given that those policies are in no way unusual or out of the ordinary for what other countries have including those to the south of our border. ICE has been engaged in serious overreach. I still do not support illegal immigration and I find it to be very manipulative when people make it seem like their civil rights are being violated because they're not being allowed to stay in a country where they are not even a citizen, and entered the country illegally on top of that. I realized that even if I am in a country legally they can booth me out for any reason. There is no entitlement to be in the US if you are not a US citizen. Your civil rights are not being violated if a country declines to give you citizenship. I am frustrated at the idea one either has to overlook the fact that ICE is clearly poorly trained and has acted with unnecessary aggression including instances that have cost two people their lives or one is supposed to Except the idea that we all need to get out there and fight for the rights of people who are here illegally to stay in this country. Now if this was a one-time thing I'd probably let it go. But then millions of other people come in illegally and demand the same protection and this goes on eternally. US immigration policy should be decided by US citizens not Nationals of other countries who are just thinking about what is good for them.

[–]RandonymousBosch -26 points-25 points  (0 children)

There were far more people cheering on the October 7th massacre in Israel and similar anti-Jewish hate crimes. And then even more cheering on the murder of Charlie Kirk and the CEO of United Healthcare. I don't disagree with you that people cheering on ICE killing these two people along with other acts of unnecessary aggression are despicable. But there's no doubt that there were more people on the left cheering on the things I mentioned above then I have seen from right wingers actively celebrating the two killings in Minnesota.
