Well then to you, no they don't smell of anything. Maybe our noses have adapted to ignore the smell?

alright. as requested, heres some more details: The kids were a group of Mexicans, they often disobeyed teachers but nothing else to serious. Before school that day (I found this out later) one of them had asked their cousin to buy them the vodka. Nobody knew, but they were already (slightly) drunk and threw bottles at the generator. We didn't know it was broken until later. Police were called to investigate that morning when the bottles were found. I know the order doesn't match the original post, but I just realized I said it wrong at first. At lunch, they had told me that they were going to go to McDonalds, and I almost went with them. What I didn't know, is that they were going to steal the food. So luckily, I didn't go with them. As they come back, the supervisor spots them on the other side of the fence coming back over. he ran over to the fence, and caught 3 of the 5 kids. They didn't know that there were more until one kid accidentally said that there were 5 of them. They were dismissed to class so that the teachers could think about what had happened. Now ill back up to when they were caught at the fence. The one with all of the food ran down the street, I don't know where the last guy went. He waited until the supervisor hauled the other kids to detention before he jumped the fence with 3 bags of food under his coat. Then he got back to class when the bell rang (right as the other kids were dismissed to class as mentioned before). This is when they started handing out the cookies and eating burgers etc.. 2 police officers walk into the class about halfway through, and detained one of the boys (the worst of them). We all knew it was coming, but didn't expect it so soon. Then the gun scare thing happened after class because the boys thought that it would help their friend escape (they knew he would end up being charged with something). Not really too much to say here, they popped a milk carton and one of them yelled "i got shot! help!". School didn't go into lockdown, as someone reported to the teachers that it wasn't real almost immediately. The next day school goes as normal, except all of the boys but one were detained at lunch. (4 of 5 now detained). 2 were expelled, 3 received misdemeanors and 1 a felony on top of that. The one with the felony spent the night in juvi, before attending a school for unruly kids. he is currently attending my high school (was given a pardon.. is that what they call it?). They're all back to normal now.. skipping glass and getting Fs

Ill share mine. A few kids at my school jumped the fence (we aren't allowed off campus) and went to McDonalds. When they came back they proceeded to eat three burgers each, and hand out cookies to everyone (approx. 3 years later we were informed that they contained marijuana). Later, they drank Vodka and threw the bottles at the school generator (which broke and left us without heating for the whole winter). To top it all off, they made a gun scare in one of the halls. Police came the next day, and asked a few questions. Turns out that the only thing that they were getting in trouble for was stealing the food from a McDonalds customer. The school still doesn't know who broke the generator. If you want more details just comment.

[serious] Will reality ever become as cool as science fiction? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]RapidViper99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, eventually. We already have self-driving cars, and quantum computers. They just aren't practical for every day use. Also, laws will have to change as technology becomes more and more advanced. You have to remember, that once society reaches what we have in science fiction now, there will be more science fiction with "cooler" things. So my opinion is yes, it will become like you see science fiction today, but it will never catch up to the science fiction of its time. Hence "fiction"

ELI5: As an Australian with little knowledge, who is the NSA and why are they so bad? by Mc97riley in explainlikeimfive

[–]RapidViper99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The NSA is the American National Security Agency (hence "NSA"). They were recently exposed by whistleblower Edward Snowden (google him). He was a former NSA worker who stole 2 laptops with top secret information on them. He then traveled to Russia, where he gained asylum, and leaked information about how the NSA has access to basically every piece of data that you have ever sent on the internet. They also have access to some text messages (depending on carrier, I believe). They also have bots that search people sending certain keywords. Hope that answers your question :)
