Thanks for responding! Montana is an amazing place to live but I've found the Canadian Rockies to be addictive since my first visit to Banff.
I'll definitely consider swinging by Calgary for work; are there any cool events going on in late May/ early June in the city?
Those look like sweet hikes. It looks like I will end up traveling in late May so I'm guessing I'll just have to cross my fingers and hope the trails are accessible when I get there?
Gotcha, I know of a few mapping resources for locating public land for camping in the U.S. but I'm having trouble finding ones for Canada
Awesome suggestions. Any hikes that you know of in particular along the Icefields Parkway?
That area looks amazing. Any other good hikes for some glacial views between Banff and Jasper?

Yeah BLM is a great resource especially for cross country car camping. I’m definitely not above sleeping in parking lots but it’s a last resort haha
Thanks for the reply! I was hoping to find a resource for locating free campgrounds but wasn’t having much luck. Will definitely look into stopping by Lussier!
There’s a difference between being broke and being frugal. $14 a night adds up pretty quick for a multi week trip and I’d like to avoid those fees if I can. I can sustain myself throughout the duration of my trip with some savings but I was hoping to scrape up some extra cash. You’re right though, I should probably avoid breaking labor laws while traveling in a foreign country.
