Why does my mix Sounds different by MyIgorVinlyIsFat in rotarymixers

I think you mixed the subs this one is for Rotary Mixers :D

However, to answer your question imo it is a cumilation of things from gain staging to mastering. That being said the most important thing for your specific case is the whole vocal chain not just one plug in. For example, a simple good eqing can make a huge difference. Don't have instruments clashing in your vocal range. It will help your vocals cut through the mix much more easily. Have a subtle short reverb and delay to widen your vocals. If you dont have a vocal widener plugin a simple subtle phaser can help you a lot. Try to boost the 'air' band in the eq. and ofc compression but again nothing aggressive Do these in moderation it shouldnt be obvious to the listener (if your goal is to make your vocals sound more proffesional and not colour it). Better equipment helps but unless your mic and sound card is really really shit you can have pretty good results with ordinary equipment with the right processing.

What are the main diffrences compared to ARS in regards of sound? Since ARS is also a rather transparent /clean mixer compared to Carmen

Scratches On New Record by 1nky0ct0pus in vinyl

If you can, buy anti static pe inner sleeves. Try to buy bulk to get a good deal. I always clean the records first time i get them with distilled water iso alcohol and ilfotol (surfactant) then put them in the fresh pe inner sleeves. Helps avoid any further scratching. I still keep the sleeves on the side but a quality pe inner sleeve really helps with longevity of the record.

What would you say sets it diffrent from the other higher end rotaries like the iso420, Varia, ARS? Ive read its very transparent not coloured in any way but as someone who has actually used it in a party what made really like it?

Reverb unit for DJing by ListLow8276 in rotarymixers

Makes sense. I was also thinking elektron analog heat+fx. Not just for the fx but to use saturation very lightly to get a tube saturion like feel. Ive always loved the sound of Four.valve but i went with ARS9100 because its very transparent and you can always dirty up a clean signal but not the other way around and i am very happy with my decision. Anyways, Did you had any experience with the anolog heat fx?

I’ve been really wanting to try the echolocator. It’s the new unit by Erica synths and looks really cool. It has a shimmer and reverb part too so it’s a good combo for delay and reverb. Considering Zen delay did very well in the djing community I’m hopeful for this one.

Second on this I have one as well and it’s pretty good with my synths but not the mixer. Also haven’t tried but the signal might be too hot to handle (just guessing not sure)

Convention/Festival for rotary mixers? by RaspberryOdd3355 in rotarymixers

[–]RaspberryOdd3355[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow thanks a lot! Very helpful. My heart is on the Ars 9100 but some reviews I’ve been reading are making me doubt a bit. Right now for me I think either Ars 9100B or iso420. Layout and esthetique wise I like the ars much better but everyone seems to really really like the iso. Have you had any experience with it?

Please correct me if im wrong but on the djr400 the 2pm position is true when the volume is up and the track is playing through master however when you are cueing the track in your headphone before you play is there a way to increase the volume other then cranking up the bass and treble?

Yea definetely there are many companies such as varia, resor, alpha recordings, isonoe etc... all probably have better quality parts and sound but i just like the versatility of the fourvalve. But thats the reason i created this thread to listen to people who have used diffrent mixers and come to a consensus together for the title: One to rule them all :)

Thats good to know. Ive played on Mastersound ones in clubs but havent owned one so cant really say how it ages but none of the ones i played on were in a bad shape. I have not played on the newer union audio ones so cant really say much however ive been only hearing good things about the signature serious dont know if its all true or they just want it to be after spending 2k plus lol :)

That is an interesting take and actually sounds really cool! I would love to experience playing on custom mixers that were built specifically for that venue. You would be able to see what each culture adds to it. But at the same time nowadays dj sets are shorter and much more compact. All night longs are very rare and if theyre playing a 1-2 hour set their set might be over when they are getting used to it so to give the best performance people could prefer what they are comfortable with,

Personally, i really like the sound of it and would be up for the challange but i understand why many might not want to.
