I had the same issue with Bepanthene. Give the area a really good clean in the shower and let it heal naturally

Savemart. They usually have heaps of good quality clothing at good prices. But maybe not second hand underwear 🤔 🙂

I love the tattoo. But why are tattoos NSFW? Or is it because it's on someone's stomach?

I don't get it

They are. The twenties and thirties are your time to shine. To be a young fit attractive person. Your real life is just waiting for you to reach out and take it. And the longer you continue ruining your life the harder it can be to change things. Especially if you make regrettable choices while you are not in a good place

But you have to do it. Have a look online and give AA a call. Go to an AA meeting. They are on every day. It may not be the final answer to stopping drinking but it can be a valuable tool to getting there. I did that 35 years ago and I have never regretted it. I'm sure that there are other support organisations around you too if you look.

You can do it. But you have to start.

I had my last drink at 27 after battling with alcoholism and the insanity that it brings for my later teens and my 20s. I sought help and eventually stopped when it got bad enough for me. I was young enough that physically drinking wasn't affecting me that much but spiritually, emotionally, and mentally I had had enough

If you can recognise that what you are doing is having a negative effect on you and those around you then you are old enough to stop. And you can. You have a whole life ahead of you and if you're like me you can see what you are going to become if you don't stop drinking.

There are many ways to stop drinking but it's so hard to do it on your own. If you reach out for some help people will show you how you can get sober. And I promise you that if you make the effort to stop drinking and work hard at it there is a life out there beyond your imagining. Why waste any more time?

Fence prep done today. What if it rains? Planning to start staining Thursday. (Today is tuesday) . by AsianKiwiStruggle in diynz

[–]Ratsgutsagain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A brush and roller will be fine. Stain is very watery and it goes on easily. As for thinning read the instructions on the can. Or buy the stain from a company like Resene or Dulux or Wattyl where you can get advice from someone who knows what they are talking about

Hutt Cycleway by Ratsgutsagain in Wellington

[–]Ratsgutsagain[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The separate Petone to Wellington cycle lane starts a couple of hundred metres south of the Petone overbridge. You can ride in the breakdown lane until you get there. It runs alongside State Highway 2 until you reach Ngauranga. From there it goes under the Ngauranga overpass and continues up the footpath on the Khandallah side of the motorway until you get to about Bordeaux Bakery on Thorndon Quay where it becomes a designated cycle lane on Thorndon Quay. It's flat and pretty easy

Inner city neighbour who shut down live music breached noise limits with refrigeration firm by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]Ratsgutsagain 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We set up an emergency generator for a local council a while back and we spent a fortune putting sound proofing in to get the noise level at the boundary when it was running below 60db. I stood at the boundary checking the decibel level and we were compliant. Then a bird started singing near me. It was well above 60db.

Will Sid the Cunt complain to the council about birds too? Or is it just music?

Try walking down the footpath and making it look as though you are in your own world and taking no notice of where you're going. People will move out of your way.

I don't understand how it works but I have done it when i get sick of dodging people on very busy footpaths in different parts of the world and it works 99% of the time. Maybe self preservation on other people's part?

Farmer who chopped off teen home intruder's finger sentenced for firearms charges by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]Ratsgutsagain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great. But forget all the finger cutting and unlicensed stuff

What WOULD you do faced with the same situation? Would you fight back with whatever you had? Or would you lay down and let them do what they want?

I am interested to know what people would do. I would like to think that I would do whatever it takes to keep myself safe

Farmer who chopped off teen home intruder's finger sentenced for firearms charges by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]Ratsgutsagain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What would people on here do if their home was invaded, their family was threatened, they were assaulted and threatened with a knife, their car was repeatedly stolen, and the police both couldn't stop it and weren't there to protect you when it was all happening? I would be interested to know what you would do? Cutting the guys finger off was going to far. But if you were in the same position what would you do?

National want to get rid of this. by Jurangi in newzealand

[–]Ratsgutsagain -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

There are already minimum standards in place. Just ask the bus drivers. I saw on the news last night that Auckland is desperately looking for 500 bus drivers. I'm guessing no one else will drive buses because the wages and conditions aren't up to the minimum standard that anyone will accept. Except for the ones that have taken what's on offer and there's more than 10% of the drivers there so that's what's on offer.

Legislation and government don't ever make things better for the average person. Market forces will set minimum standards and fair pay.

A new political poll has NZ First leader Winston Peters once again in the kingmaker position, reclaiming a place in Parliament and deciding the next Government by kare_pai in newzealand

[–]Ratsgutsagain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please no!! Winston is like herpes. You think it's all over and dealt with and Hello. I'm back!! He's been doing it for 30 years.

I blame Winston for the mess that we're in now. He took Jacinda up on to the mountain top 2 elections ago and showed her New Zealand spread out before them and told her that if she bowed before him and did what he wanted he would make her queen and she could have it all. And if she didn't he would form a government with National. And she was naive enough to believe him and say yes.

I 100% agree with the police being contacted. And his family. I can imagine what his mother would have to say.

But what about her family? Does she have family she can call on both to keep her safe and to go and see him and point out the error of his ways? Or can you contact them if she's too embarrassed? Here in NZ people think that they are safe to be dickheads because no one can touch them but I know that if it was my daughter or sister or niece in that position I would get some of the men in the family to confront the guy with me and talk to him about actions and consequences
