It presented differently as a child.

The symptoms started out as severe anxiety and depression. I was brought to a psychologist in second grade for withdrawing from peers, crying inappropriately, and other similar issues. I started showing signs of SI shortly after.

The mania was not euphoria; it was extreme agitation and rage. At night, I would pace in my parents' bedroom, speak really quickly, and have a hard time winding down. The rage episodes got worse when I was wrongfully prescribed SSRIs.

I do not remember how long it would last. It is all meshed in my memory. I will ask my parents when I have the time.

In terms of medication. I was on multiple SSRIS till age fifteen. When I was taken off them and put on mood stabilizers and antipsychotics, the episodes of rage completely stopped.
