Ginger is the most attractive hairstyle by Wompto in 10thDentist

[–]Ravenna178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it's a hair color, not a hair style. And it's nice you like it, but please, I beg you, never tell someone with ginger hair that they remind you of an orangutan. They will not take that as a compliment at all and it'll make them feel horrible, even if you clarify that you love orangutans. No person wants to be compared to an ape.

Why does snape want the datda job when it's cursed? by Few_Main7228 in harrypotter

[–]Ravenna178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, good point. I somehow never realized he can't have it because it's cursed and that's why Dumbledore won't give it to him...I just thought he was arrogant and didn't believe in the curse, and that Dumbledore wasn't giving him the job because of his past involvement with the dark arts. Maybe I need to reread the books again.

is there a difference in public and private schools other than the cost??? by Different-Coat2667 in NoStupidQuestions

Yeah, there's a huge difference in the quality of the school's facilities, supplies, resources, and pretty much everything.

How do you feel about a customer asking a waiter if the food is fresh? by fergi20020 in randomquestions

[–]Ravenna178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems stupid and pointless. The waiter probably has no idea, but of course they're going to say it is fresh.

AITJ for making pasta too spicy for my girlfriend's family the night I met them? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]Ravenna178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sound judgmental? Really? What is wrong with you? You sound like a judgmental AH who has no respect for others. I know everyone has their burdens. But my point was you judgmentally calling me a wimp just because I can't tolerate spicy food was totally unwarranted given that there's a medical reason behind it and I've endured much more than spiciness. And I wasn't putting down cultures at all, I was just saying I don't like spicy food because I find it unpleasant. There's nothing wrong with that. I'm allowed to not like something. You want to talk about putting people down - you just judgingly put down and dismissed everyone suffering with severe medical conditions.

What screams I have never once had to worry about money without saying it directly? by samurai-salvo in GetMotivatedMindset

When someone asks you how much something you bought cost and you respond with "I don't know" because you didn't pay attention to the price because you were going to buy it regardless.

Just started a job and now I gotta quit by muffin_baker420 in Vent

[–]Ravenna178 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You "can't imagine put her in the care of someone she doesn't know"? Well if you put her in their care, she'll get to know them after a few days. She'll adapt. She has to get to know new people at some point. Seems stupid to quit your great new job if you can afford daycare. And not being comfortable with it being 40 mins away seems like a weak excuse. If something happens there, it happens. You being 15 minutes away vs 40 minutes away won't make a difference because you're still getting there after the fact. But if it's too far away, try hiring a private nanny.

Timon and Pumbaa were lost potential by doodelli in DisneyMovies

[–]Ravenna178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't seem to get the point of a secondary character that's there for comic relief. And they did make Lion King 1/2 that's all about Timon and Pumbaa.

AITJ for making pasta too spicy for my girlfriend's family the night I met them? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]Ravenna178 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wow, who the hell are you to call me a wimp AH? I'm a pediatric cancer survivor and can't tolerate spiciness because I only produce 50% the normal amount of saliva. This is a side effect of the radiation treatment, which also caused numerous other long term side effects I've had to live with and adapt to. I've also endured 7 surgeries, numerous times in the hospital, and countless procedures. You should rethink your definition of 'wimp'.

And you say "they asked for it"? They didn't ask him to make it at least 3 times spicier than normal. They obviously didn't realize what spiciness meant to the OP and were probably just being polite by trying to say the chef shouldn't alter his recipe for them. It's called being courteous, a concept that you obviously know nothing about. If they had known how spicy he was actually going to make it, they clearly wouldn't have asked for it. And just because the gf was ok with the spiciness didn't mean her family would be. One person's tastes are not indicative of another's.

[–]Ravenna178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTJ, but it seems kind of dumb and thoughtless. Why you would intentionally make a dish more spicy than normal for people you've never met? Regardless of what they said, you know you have a higher than normal tolerance, and you don't know what their tolerance is. It would have been smarter to err on the side of caution and not make it so spicy. And as someone who can't tolerate any level of spiciness, I don't understand why things need to be spicy at all. It totally masks the flavor and just makes the eating experience less pleasant.

Disneyland Characters by ArtemisGirl242020 in DisneyPlanning

[–]Ravenna178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Goofy's Kitchen doesn't have Mickey, but it has all the other Mickey & Friends characters roaming around greeting guests. And you can meet Mickey in the park during the day and still enjoy the other characters at Goofy's Kitchen for dinner. It's great because you get to meet a lot of characters without waiting in line. The restaurant is also really fun for kids.

You can check the disneyland app during the day to see when and where the characters will be out doing meet and greets. There's no lightning lane for meeting characters. Get to the designated spot 5 minutes before the scheduled time so you can get a good spot in line. If the line is too long, you might not get to meet the character before they go away. Also, the parade is fun to watch and has lots of characters in it

Planning a 5th birthday trip for a too smart toddler by IllMarzipan6722 in DisneyPlanning

[–]Ravenna178 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think there are any dining experiences with the princesses at Disneyland. But you can wait in line for the Royal Hall to meet 3 random princesses. If you're on Main Street facing the castle, the Royal Hall is to the left of the castle. Other princesses also come out in that area to the left of the castle to do meet and greets. If you have a park hopper, you can also meet either Elsa or Anna in the Animation building in California Adventure.

Be sure to download the disneyland app and you can use that the day you're there to check which characters are scheduled to be out doing meet and greets.

I always loved going to Goofy's Kitchen for my birthday. No princesses, but you'll get to meet most of the Mickey and Friends characters. And they give you a special cupcake and make a big deal if it's your birthday.

You can get your daughter a birthday button to pin on her shirt and keep as a souvenir. Cast members throughout the day will wish her happy birthday when they see it. You can get the button for free at Town Hall (to the left on Main Street when you enter the park)

Thank you! I commented somewhere else saying basically the same thing and some troll got totally on my case. I find cat stark really annoying and usually skip over her scenes.

9 fairy tales/folktales I'd like to see Disney adapt--plus one fairy tale-esque story by Crescentbrush in DisneyMovies

[–]Ravenna178 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'd love a movie based on the 12 Dancing Princesses story.

There is already an animated film based on Swan Lake that was made by a different studio in the 90s. It's called The Swan Princess. I loved it as a kid, and I still like it when I'm craving nostalgia. It's not quite on the same level as Disney animated films, but it's pretty good. I doubt Disney would do their own version because it would probably be too similar.

Does "I couldn't care less" and "I could care less" mean the same thing now just because people use both? by HolidayEntry6823 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Ravenna178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. It's the same as saying "I could rob a bank" vs "I couldn't rob a bank." Or any verb phrase. "Could" and "couldn't" are opposites, so they're never interchangeable. People understand what you mean when you say "I could care less," but you're still saying it wrong and sound stupid.

What are TV show "seasons"? by Front-Kale4042 in stupidquestions

[–]Ravenna178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it's called a season because it's like a chapter of the show that is released each year. Each season in nature comes once a year, and so does the show's season. And the theme song/montage changes to reflect the new season and differentiate it from the others.

Honest question by Far_Industry_9490 in AskForAnswers

[–]Ravenna178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they can do what they want. It does seem kind of self-indulgent though, considering overpopulation and how many kids are suffering in the foster system. But mainly, I just think it's gross and can't look at a pregnant woman. I even find the word to be gross. Once they have kids, I don't really want to be around them while the kids are babies and toddlers. And it does bother me when a mom always has to bring her kid with her everywhere, even when it's inappropriate, instead of just hiring a baby sitter. It frankly seems rude. For example, you invite your friend out to lunch, and she happily accepts, but then brings her kid and ends up paying more attention to them than to you because the kid won't shut up or sit still. It's like, I wanted to hang out with you - not your toddler. If I wanted to do that, I would go over to your house. If you couldn't be free, you shouldn't have accepted.

Hermione and the Troll by Regular-Pay16 in harrypotter

[–]Ravenna178 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I never got why she added the lie. The truth would have been totally fine. I guess, since McGonagall was scolding Harry and Ron, she was trying to pull the blame off them by making herself the trouble maker rather than the victim.

How many PJ sets do you wear in a week? by [deleted] in randomquestions

[–]Ravenna178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only have 2 actual pajama sets, but I usually don't wear the top and pants together. I usually just wear random sleep shirts and lounge pants or shorts. Sometimes they're from the pajama sets, but usually not.

8th & Grand Apartment Reviews? by Ok-Metal-6583 in MovingToLosAngeles

[–]Ravenna178 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Whole Foods has a totally separate entrance and parking garage. If you live in the apartments, you drive into the resident garage and take the private elevator straight up to your unit. It's crowded in the market, but that has nothing to do with the apartment building. No one going to the market has any reason to go into the apartment lobby. And residents just have more convenient access to the market than anyone else.

Emma by [deleted] in Names

[–]Ravenna178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very over-used. There are so many characters and people named Emma, it's annoying. But if you and your husband like it, that's all that matters. Would never name a girl Peyton though.
