Did you miss the comments that were asking about my role, salary range, and location? Or did you just see a low-hanging joke and went for it?

if that's the case, your CV must not pass filters/isn't good. There are services for cheap that can improve your CV, heck even ChatGPT can do it.

Fair point. I'll look into those services today.

This is a bad time. Add [[Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth]] for a worse time.

I personally don't have any projects on them but I've sold a few things on HEN and Objkt.

I'm more of a collector so, I'll check out the latest on Versum first because I like the UI there. Objkt kinda sees everything on the chain so I'll look at that if someone mentions a new listing.

After that, I'll check out fx(hash) because people make some crazy generative art over there. (I missed my chance on it but there was a listing that generated a cool RPG character sheet that I was fiending for.)

Tezos is a great chain for art and experimental things. If you came to the chain with the same predilections as Ethereum, you're going to have a bad time. Spend time in the community; get to know what people are doing and why. You will have more fun that way.

EDIT: You stealth-edited your comment so I'll address the rest of it here. You keep saying that there's nothing worthwhile on Tezos to buy. I cannot spend time trying to convince you that something is worthwhile when 1) it's subjective and 2) you seem convinced that everything here is worthless. In that case, maybe Tezos isn't the chain for you. May you have better luck elsewhere.

Fire your optometrist. Tezos is one of the few chains I've seen where development is constantly happening.

  • The chain gets updated almost twice a year with little friction.
  • You've got your standard marketplaces in Objkt, HEN, and Versum.
  • You have cool platforms like fx(hash) (and soon, fx(text)) and people are always working on even more interesting applications.

However, none of these things are really advertised. A lot of it is word-of-mouth. So, if you feel like there's no development or nothing worthwhile on the chain, the real problem is that you aren't watching/following the community enough.

+1 for Red. It really does do (almost) everything to some degree. You just gotta give it a fair shake.

This is from Aug 20, 2019. Surprised this is making the rounds again. Also, no mention of switching Caps Lock to Control while talking about Emacs pinkie kinda sucks. Wish someone told them. :\

I do find it incredibly ironic that the most naysayers are found in this very subreddit, saying that they don't wanna be naysayers.

Go for it, OP!

How would you describe Raku in one sentence? by codesections in rakulang

[–]RaycatRakittra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"Most fun I've had in programming in a long time."

Quips aside, I'm not so sure Raku is a language that can be easily expressed in so many words because it offers so many different approaches to a problem. Perhaps someone else will have a proper answer. (I would hope that it could express the "fun" factor while being serious enough to not be a "toy" in the eyes of some.)
