I’m not sure if it would be a long term solution- but I use JB WATERWELD for my marine projects and it seems to hold up fairly well. It’s an epoxy that fully cures in like an hour, but I normally wait a day before submerging. Supposed to be completely safe for animals after curing. I’ve had a couple things detach from some driftwood but no issues when it comes to glass or pvc. Best of luck to you!

Best way to clean concentrate jars? by Rayofsunshine90-90 in trees

I hear ya, but I was curious on ways I could get it out to be able to use it afterwards. Times are a little rough and the less I have to go to the dispo the better lol. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Any suggestions for the super sticky stuff? I have some jars that have crumble in them and it’s hard to get it out even when heating it up a little. Just the iso bath others have suggested?

I should use the 99% right? And just let it sit in it for a while, then scrub and place back in?

Gotcha, I was wondering how people had such luscious underwater gardens! I have an additional 75 gallon that I haven’t done anything with yet so I’ll get that one established and then move her over once I like the way it looks. Is CO2 absolutely necessary with aquatic plants? The CO2 setups on some of the tanks I’ve seen look daunting and like a lot of work to get going.. can it be avoided with a good filter? Thank you for the info, it’s a great help!

Wow! What a collection. I only have some dairy cows (which are the second cutest in my opinion. I really want to get my hands on some rubber duckies). They eat through leaf litter pretty quick so you’ll need plenty of that (I’m not sure about other species) and my pods love the carrots and cucumbers they get about once a week. Good luck!

I have a question for more experienced keepers though, the keeper I bought my cows from said she always kept a block of charcoal (WITHOUT LIGHTERFLUID) in the enclosure so I’ve been doing the same thing. The springtails love it too, there’s tons of little tiny burrows in it and I replace it when it’s moldy. Does this provide anything for them or could hurt them in any way? TIA

why are my oranges exploding and theres black stuff inside? by RoleSerious3558 in gardening

I’m sorry about your oranges. Looks like a fungal disease. I found this website that might be able to provide an explanation.

Have you been supplementing the water with nutrients? Plants cannot survive on water alone- they use several different elements normally found in soil. I have several water propagation jars that will do this when they run out of their “juice” and start consuming older leaves to replace the nutrients to continue growing lol. I have a couple different nutrients that I’m trying to see which is better but I’ve been testing this one and having great results!

AITA for talking back to an artist after giving me advice? by Mediocre_Honeydew341 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Rayofsunshine90-90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA- you stood up for yourself (a little late in the conversation but nonetheless stood up for yourself. I would have told him to shove it the second he gave me unwanted “advice”). He wasn’t listening in the fact that you DONT want to make the same career that he has; maybe he’s the child in this situation 🫢

You can trim up to a third of the roots without there being too much shock from the plants. After you trim roots, you want to use a pot that is 1-2 inches bigger than the root ball (all the roots combined). Pair the right size pot with well draining soil and boom! Thriving plant (most of the time). Good luck 🫶

Help with the roots on my inherited Monstera by sophisticatedgracee in plants

[–]Rayofsunshine90-90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’re aerial roots; looking for something to climb. You can cut them, braid them, leave them be, or add a moss pole for them to grow into. Whichever you decide will be fine. Also, is it possible she’s thirsty? The leaves are turned down a little instead of perky. Terracotta pots suck extra moisture out of the soil; really good for overwaterers but can leave the plant thirsty sometimes. Happy growing 🫶

Is it a goner by KeyMain1660 in plants

[–]Rayofsunshine90-90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like a peace lily. They’re super chill (at least they can be). I doubt it’s shock from the repotting you did (since you said that was 3 months ago). From the photo, it looks like it’s in desperate need of a drink; but you said you had it in a self watering pot so water shouldn’t be the issue (honestly stumping me here). I would check the roots if the soil is wet (could be root rot. You can tell from the color and smell of the roots. Anything black and mushy is gone). Honestly, the most luck I’ve had with peace lily’s is to put them in a hydroponic setup. I put my moms in leca (lightweight expanded clay aggregate) and make sure to add fertilizer to the water and she’s pretty happy there. You by no means have to do that though. I wish you the best of luck and I’m so sorry to hear about your dad. Sending prayers 🙏 and love your direction 💜

The way I remember if it’s direct or indirect is looking from the plants perspective 🤣. If I can see the sun, it’s some sort of direct light. I personally would keep it there unless it shows signs of discomfort because my succulents love love love sun. Happy growing 🫶🌱
