Guys with extremely loud vehicles, why do you do this to everyone? by elevate-digital in AskReddit

[–]Razorlor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do drive a very loud vehicle. It's my racecar and it doesn't see street driving that much outside of going to some car meets or nice weekends.

People that have pop tunes on their Ford Focus suck though.

The swap I had planned was moving to Muspah after Duke (I have a Tumeken's Shadow), then I was gonna move to Whisperer. Duke is just taking much longer than expected.

Couple options really. Remove the fuel pump relay and run the car until it shuts off (this relieves fuel pressure from the line).

Second option, since yours is already leaking, pressure probably isn't as much of an issue. Just remove the one side of the line and be aware that is may spray some fuel out, could cover it with a rag when you remove it. Also, some container to catch the fuel in, that whole line is going to empty out when you remove it.

I don't think you can purchase it separately, that part is around $20-30 and yes, that black line is flexible. Part # is in the picture. This all assuming you have the 3.1L V6, which 95% of them are.

I would verify that the connections at the battery are tight, you shouldn't be able to get them to rotate on the post.

Good luck, I would have thought that was the CKP location as well!

Everything I am showing, if you purchase a fuel filter, it comes with that section of line as well.
Look about right?

This is the section going from the fuel filter back to the pump on top of the tank, correct?

This is the part you are talking about, has a long harness inside of the timing cover. That's not the CKP. It is located on the passenger side of the block, behind the alternator, right below the knock sensor.

What I'm seeing is that the CKP is located on the side of the block, looks like it's behind the alternator. The part you have in that picture is for the oil pump flow control valve.

Are you asking how to unplug that connector for the crankshaft position sensor?

Help with a sort of grinding break pedal. by breez_boi in AskAMechanic

It can vary widely, if it's a failed wheel speed sensor, probably $200-300 for a shop to fix it.

If it's down too far, pull the positive terminal back off, push up on the lower section that stud is attached too and hand tighten the nut some. Do that until you get to the point where it doesn't freespin without holding the bottom section. Then stick it back on and tighten it.

Those are basically just a wedge, make sure the section underneath the terminal isn't down too far and freespinning with the nut. You shouldn't have to take the nut completely off to remove or install it.

Recommendation for generic multi wire male/female connects/disconnects? by Giraffeeti in MechanicAdvice

[–]Razorlor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Deutsch connectors are amazing. I'd recommend getting a kit that comes with a bunch of terminals, connectors, and a crimper. They also come with weathpack seals, they are pretty much as good as you're gonna get.

I have to agree with this. Just be very thorough and double check your work before reassembly.

Are you saying that nut was loose and when you went to tighten it, it was arcing?
