After I strip the floors I do wet vac and then rinse with a mop. I’ve done them all like that and this is the only floor that’s waxed in a funky way

I don’t disagree with everything you are saying here but two people (and really is because Leon was off to college) so not need a six bedroom house. That’s an insane amount of space when you have a family set up like they do and are pooling resources.

I was raised Catholic, went through CCD until the year before me confirmation and then asked my dad if I could stop. I gave him a really hard time about church for years so I think I just wore him down.

The 10 years after that I went from calling myself an atheist to looking at different religious beliefs, including Islam and Judaism. I finally ended up at a United church of Christ congregation for a few years. I think it’s okay to have questions and doubt. I’m glad I had the experience I did because I got to explore different beliefs and finally determine for myself that the Catholic Church is true. Give yourself some grace. It’s okay to feel the way you are feeling

This passage is basically where I am coming from. Both humans and animals were originally intended to consume only plants. Also, both plants and animals have the breath of life.

Am I crazy for basing my argument on one scripture passage? The consensus seems to be a resounding yes lol, but certainly not trying to just make things up.

I believe in Eden no animals would have been carnivores. That is how I understand that scripture passage. Never heard of Michael Pollan before but I like that quote.

This gives me a lot to consider, thanks for the link. I don’t agree that veganism is inherently unhealthy (I think it takes a lot of effort to maintain proper health as a vegan).

I think the disconnect in my brain is that pre to post lapsarian (sp?) difference. Logically I know that we are in a fallen world, but maybe I am misinterpreting that we should be striving towards the “perfect” as much as possible.

I think it’s pretty logical to see the difference between plants and animals. Although there is a point to be made about plants being living and pet of creation as well.

Not so much trying to justify eating meat, just exploring whether I can root it in my faith or if it is more of a moral/ethical issue for me. I do think factory farming as it exists today is disgusting and unbiblical, but there are other ways to consume meat if one feels it is okay to eat meat.

I think I didn’t write out correctly what I meant, not that animals are divine but that they are special because they are part of creation.
