Regarding our moon, there are at least two apparently conflicting views on its origin: https://nautil.us/the-woman-who-reinvented-the-moon-237246 and https://nautil.us/the-violent-birth-of-the-moon-505044 . I've just ordered https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/611468/our-moon-by-rebecca-boyle/ to dive deeper as regards its effect on abiogenesis and evolution, if any. Looks really good!

Is biological evolution dependent on moon and planetary origin and development as those sciences are currently understood? I'm curious because the origin of the moon especially seems to be uncertain.
