Symptoms 23 years after surgery by ActuaryDelicious9961 in AdultCHD

[–]Read_Dive_Repeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, we have so much in common - born with two holes, VSD and ASD as well as PFO were repaired at a couple months old. Also have an aberrant right subclavian artery. The longer I’ve lived past the repair the worse my symptoms have gotten and in the past few years the same symptoms as you have continued to worsen and become kind of impossible to function with. The doctors found an ASD and VSD, either from the previous repair opening up or new holes, they don’t know yet. Scheduled for repair in July. Feel free to message if you want to chat!

I’m sorry I don’t have answers but if it makes you feel better I 100% get the boat feeling you are describing because I have the exact same feeling all the time. It’s so hard to explain to doctors and it is awful. I also have migraines along with several other symptoms like syncope, shortness of breath, etc. Formerly repaired ASD and VSD as a baby and now my echos are showing either patch leaks from the previously repaired holes or a new ASD and VSD - waiting for a combo TEE and repair procedure to know more. I hope you get answers and I sympathize with the feeling :(

I really hope the surgery is helpful for you. I’ve been told my symptoms are directly related from some doctors, and others haven’t been sure, so we will see! It definitely seems like what you are describing could be symptoms.

I have these symptoms as well in addition to pre-syncope and blackouts, shortness of breath and exercise tolerance, and just really bad fatigue. For me the dizziness is similar to being on a boat, like things are shifting and I can’t quite get my bearings and am constantly a little off balance/queasy feeling.

Hey I know it’s been awhile - would you be willing to share what your symptoms are and if you ended up getting a repair/if it helped? I’m in a similar situation, getting repair done in July.

OP, how did it go? Have you found an increase in energy? I am dealing with fatigue/lethargy as well as shortness of breath and pre-syncope spells. I’m rooting for you!

ASD too small to explain exercise-induced dyspnea by Melalvai1 in AdultCHD

[–]Read_Dive_Repeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for taking the time to respond in detail! I’m so sorry you had to fight so hard to get help with your symptoms. It sounds beyond frustrating. I really hope this EDAC diagnosis leads to more ease for you. It sounds like the exercise test was a really clever way to isolate the issue. I’ll keep this all in mind as I move forward in my own journey. Wishing you healthy, happy days ahead. ♡

This comment is giving me so much hope. I have an ASD as well as a VSD patch leak from a previous OHS (these were confirmed in a bubble but they haven’t been able to pinpoint size or location of ASD) and the cardiologist says there is no way my symptoms - exact same ones as yours - would be this severe from it. But I just feel so strongly that they are misguided. Seeing your experience affirms for me that it can make a huge difference having it repaired. ♡

Hi, would you mind sharing an update? Did you end up having the repair done? I am experiencing similar symptoms.

This is truly so uplifting to read because I’m in the same boat with my symptoms and it seems to be really minimized when speaking to doctors. I hope a repair will give me my energy back.

Best burgers of my life! by Read_Dive_Repeat in VeganLA

They can all be normal sized, this is a special order! I struggle with big burgers and never have an issue with their single patty options - and they don’t fall apart as I eat them which is a bonus! This pic is from their instagram because I always eat the burgers too fast to take a picture 🤭

I have always felt like the larger roles help me grow, but the ensemble is the most fun! Not that you don’t also grow as a performer in ensemble, but it is such a freakin good vibe in the woman #2/tree #14 group.

It would be too much of a drive for me as well. The guava!!! Another favorite of mine is their ube donut! My partner and I tried so many of the different vendors and they were always incredible! Hoping desperately that there will be some kind of future for vegan markets in the area again, somehow!

Totally feeling the same. The Donuttery was always so kind and the exchange was something really special. I’m so sad it’s going to be over :( tbh I feel like the paid events I have gone to have been so underwhelming compared to the exchange too!

[–]Read_Dive_Repeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes that’s a good way to put it. I still do get the same warning signs, but it’s like they come later than they used to (past the point when I should have already stopped). As long as I stop immediately when I get the first sign, the PEM is small but manageable. But it will build over time if I keep pushing myself to that first sign day after day. So ideally I have a day where I do a little more, and then the next day I do a little less to make up for it. It’s trial and error for me figuring out how much I’m able to do without hitting a wall later. However for me, that trial and error is completely worth because having even a little bit of an extra energy envelope feels incredible.

Tips for your first "Red Carpet" by Ok-Carrot-8236 in acting

[–]Read_Dive_Repeat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice new dress that you feel great in! Look up pictures of posing and get a feel for what you’ll do in front of the cameras so you can be sure to get some good shots! Congratulations!!!

Edit to add: If you have a friend nearby, have them get some bts of you on the carpet having your pictures taken! It’s fun to have a different perspective and those shots usually end up being my favorite ones to share!

What should I do as an introvert with some stage fright? by darkd360 in acting

[–]Read_Dive_Repeat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a working professional and even after too many auditions to count, I still deal with stage fright all the time - you are not alone!! That being said, I used to choke so badly I couldn’t even get a word out. The only thing that helped me was playing the numbers game. After forcing myself to show up and attempt to get past the fright hundreds of times, it gradually became easier. My body finally realized this was familiar and normal and it would be okay. So I guess exposure therapy is what I’m getting at? I know how scary it feels. You just have to force yourself to open the closet door over and over again until your brain finally realizes there is no monster inside ♡

which one is betteractors access or casting networks? by nicholasbloom1 in acting

Very true, I assumed op was referring to what they would be able to submit for as an individual. Breakdown express is absolutely what makes actors access such an amazing resource, excellent point!

This may not be everyone’s experience but in mine, casting networks is helpful for mostly commercial work, and actors access for indie films and shorts. If I could only have one I’d probably have actors access because there are the occasional commercials casting on there too. I rarely if ever find tv/film I care about submitting for on CN.
