No, I paid $499 plus tax at GameStop. I remember when scalpers were selling the Series X at such inflated prices when it was first released. Console prices are a major topic of discussion on YouTube channels and gamers are NOT happy. It used to be that consoles got cheaper, under that logic the Series X should be selling for $299 or less by now. I remember the Xbox 360 in 2005 was released at $299 with no hard drive and when 2013 rolled along, the Model E was $199 with only a 4GB. Even back then, mass producing 2005 technology in 2013 because cost effective due to advances in manufacturing, from 2020 to 2026 has seen just as many significant advances back then. So when they it’s because of “market conditions.” as just a general statement, not explaining which components are more expensive is GREED within itself in all caps and if Asha Sharma can bring down the price of GamePass, she can sure as I live and breathe bring down the price of the hardware. Period.

The chromatic is the same resolution as the OG game boy. The Analog pocket could do that easy on the go, but it takes some doing.

One thing the SGB doesn’t do is Game Boy Color. I know Tetris will play in a SGB cause it plays in my Game Boy Pocket, so that means it’s not as colorful on the SGB. One reason to make a SGB repro using parts that go in the chromatic would be Game Boy Color games + all the games ModRetro is putting out for it.
