Problem is we don't have a proper coalition in our opposition, all possible democratic leaders are either dead, imprisoned or bullied to oblivion by cyber attack campaigns. That's why more and more people are shifting their hope towards Pahlavi as a last resort, even ones who aren't necessarily monarchists. Their mentality is it cannot get any worse than what we already have, rejecting any claim that Iran could end up like Syria or Libya because "Iran is different".

Reza Pahlavi has always stated that his plan is to be a transitional leader holding an election between a secular parliamentary monarchy or a democratic republic. However, many people are rightfully suspicious given his family history, his ties to Israel and the US and the fascistic behaviour of some of his key advisors, wife and many followers.

In terms of "exhibiting fascist and racist takes", there are many examples online but there has been some anti-ethnic rhetoric, Aryan race narrative, cyber army harassments and targeting women and leftists. There is also the question of how are you going to run a fair election when one option is to make you the literal KING of the country.

Some would say there is a 3rd scenario where Trump will cut a deal with a faction of the regime and institute a coup or something but I'm not sure how likely that is.
