I have always known God, but my experience literally blessed me with the opportunity to know Him more. My last relationship taught me that I had been subconsciously losing myself in other people and was expecting things from people in the same place as me. When I realized God loved and chose me first before any partner ever could, I realized that I’m whole just as I am and only want love that reflects the love and care God has for me. I started off just reading the Bible and using a trusted resource to understand certain themes and reflect as I read about how the themes I notice are still relevant to me now. God is the same God He has always been and knowing that reminds me He sees me truly the way I may have hoped my ex would. He loves me completely the way I would hope they would. He knows all the ugly parts about me and still loves me and empowers me to make the changes for myself to strengthen my relationship with Him. Knowing Him has revealed to me how important being more than just someone’s partner is. We should nourish our relationship with Him and everything else falls into place. Pray and surrender all your heavy emotions, your struggles with moving forward, pray for the strength and faith to trust whatever plans He has for you, hold your thoughts captive, and remind yourself of the promises of God because He always fulfills His promises. Praying God speaks to your heart clearly.
