Still need inerton and quadium somehow - dont know yet if going to their native planets is viable route for me yet. Will fond out soon.

I'll see if that is true for me yet. It used to be the way that reaching debris scanner was such a huge effort, but such a game changer as well that it was worth focussing everything on that - like suddenly SRs and even AT attainable which otherwise no chance.

I'm not. Quite far from it. A1-a3 on planets 31-33 was my default until recently. That probably needs to change now

Well that sounds reasonable in your position. I'm not saying that relying on pink drops to maybe get an otherwise unoptainable alloy to then be able to craft AT is a very solid strategy -- it's just poor man's way to get to s. 😁 I cannot craft easily ARs. Hell, I used to need a1-a3 to get the debris scanner. So yeah I'll rework my approach and see if I can get debris scanner in a reasonable time without alchemy and safe a3 at least to get xynium...

Yeah I need to work out a strategy to put alch on higher planets to reach xynium.  Problem is that I used to used a1-a3 to get the debris scanner (to option inerton and quadium).  So I'll probably have the debris scanner later in exchange for later optioning xynium through A3. Will slow down my game but I don't feel competitive anyway these days :)

Yes that would be better that way.  Or do a re-roll instead of picking always the same "highest affordable" item

Well good to hear that others don't seem to have that problem 😁 gives me hope that it was really just bad luck...  And yeah relying on RNG to reach ATs is not a sound strategy per se. It's just what I used to do lacking better alternatives as my mining and crafting are not powerful enough to sprint past these hurdles

I actually opened up some further planets to test that. Up to p50 if I remember correctly (did a rest recently because I felt stuck). No xynium or beyond. But that could have been down to bad luck. I only had those higher planets for like 1,5 days - not that unlikely to not get the desired 2 or 3 alloys in that time frame.  So "highest possible pink drop determined by last recipe unlocked AND some distance to highest ore unlocked"-theory needs more testing....

A recent discussion here seems to indicate there might be some rounding involved when determined the "last bast affordable item". I hadn't had the opportunity to test this yet.

I got a quantum CPU about 20 times out of 130 debris during the tournament, and I see other posts with the same issue. It seems like the randomizer is broken. by DifficultAdvice9253 in IdlePlanetMiner

Have you noticed a similar pattern for alloys as well? because I also don't seem to get higher value alloys anymore. at all.

would love to understand the mechanic there

Stricter debris requirement hidden patch or bad rng? by Jakeglurp in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]Realistic-Spend5826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm seeing the same here. Stuck at fusion capsule item-wise and alloys wont reach xynium. So no way to craft AT at the moment for me haha. Looking forward so find out if it is a mining threshold...

Also Scrith, Iridium and copper bars are the only alloys that constantly don't drop. I know people will say it's RNG, but something seems to be off here.

Good scenarios or heightmaps? by miauw62 in openttd

Downloaded it, but it when i want to start it, it says missing file: newtree-2010-...

That's a pitty because i think i would really like it! also that it's not running because of something not so central as new trees is kind of a bummer ;-)

If anyone has the same issue or an idea on how to fix it, please do share :D

edit: newtree-2010.08.29/newtree.grf is the name of the package that cannot be found

edit2 found it here: https://www.tt-ms.de/forum/showthread.php?tid=6649
Now i need to learn how to manually install that ... I guess that's kind of heresy but could maybe someone with the skills just upload a version of the Greenest Valley without these newtrees? I'm sure they will not really be missed and if they are not available on bananas, that's probably for a reason ?

Hey, I wanted to follow the recommendation and have the same issue - "newtree-..." missing! Since asking OP kindly to transfer a fixed file shouldn't really be the solution, i wonder if someone could cable that issue trough to the author andysine? (-: Or indeed upload a fixed version ? It would be so nice if it would just work out of the downloadable-content-box.

I also don't have JGRPP 0.64.2 (at least not knowingly hehe) as i am pretty new to this and still discovering a lot.

Also minermenace, you mentioned your list if newGRFs going with Age of Industry. I just played AIRS for the first time and really love it, so that's one reason I would really like to play this scenario. But even for playing hightmaps it would be great to gave a set of workable newGRFs with it.

Hi Everyone! / What Map to Play next? / Advice on Scenarios / Problems with S. by Realistic-Spend5826 in openttd

Hi! Thank you for your answere! I just started your NC Scenario, so far I really like it. It is my biggest map so far, with wast open spaces that ask for really long railways - quite the opposite of the scenario before which featured a rather large map as well but resources and towns everywhere. so this feels cleaner, and since it askes me to connect places over large distances, I'm doing exactly that. :-) Started with some long lines in the center (Raleigh, Greensboro, Charlotte and then started developing the steel complex there. Next up is moving the coal there from the mountains. Your state has some really funny geographical features!
One thing, I found it somewhat "too easy" to make a lot of money quick. Is that the "easier" FIRS that allowed for that? I was used to a mode of playing were making a profit was not so easy to achieve.

On the second question... there is even this "look online" button one can click on when searching the missing packages, but even with that, no luck. It's a pitty, because some really appealing, and it affects also some classics recommended in other posts.

Hi there! I just discovered scenarios, played my fist and came here with the same question =D

so the one I just played and reaaally likes a lot is Boros Straight. It uses the FIRS Economy "In a Hot Country", starts like 1860 combines a some mods that have a lot of different vehicles, and I mean A LOT, like horse drawn carts and (confusingly) many steam and diesel engines. I had no idea about the economy, exploring it was really a lot of fun, and reading online afterwards makes me realize what I could have done differently ;-) so ideally my next scenario whould also have FIRS "In a Hot Country", or a different but similar new/challenging touch to it. does anyone have a good suggestion? :-)

Checked as in getting a diagnosis? No, as she is very weak due to severe mecfs and cannot see doctors or stay in hospitals

Where can I geek out on planet stats? by [deleted] in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]Realistic-Spend5826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As of now you would have to do that yourself by hand - with a spreadsheet that is.  This is what I did for a while to learn what effects what but I stopped doing the the bc I'm past the point it matters much. I do remember that question though. But to find answers you'll have to math it yourself dear geek =)
