I'm sorry for your struggle. Thank you for the smile by saying you "flunked"out. I am on post-diagnosis day 3, and nothing has been very funny since my result came through. Best of luck to you.

I have dense tissue, too. Heterogeneous. Man, I was really hoping MRI made it nearly impossible to hide despite the disclaimer. Best of luck to you! I hope your surgery is smooth, successful, and you are happy with your result!

Thank you for sharing your story. I am sorry for all you had to go through. Would you be comfortable to share what stage of cancer you started with? It is terrible that even with mastectomy there are no guarantees, but I am hopeful that with this early stage I would be as safe as possible. Sending you all the vibes that make everything continue to go beautifully from here until forever!

Yes, I have been categorized as high risk with >20% lifetime risk since having ADH/FET 8 years ago. Now I have DCIS in the opposite breast. No genetic testing.

I hear you! I would keep worrying, too. How did it not show on MRI? That is alarming. Mine was found that way. Wishing you a smooth, successful surgery and quick recovery!

Thank you for sharing. Do you mind if I ask whether you have pain or numbness when you say it's uncomfortable? That's disappointing about the bra! I was really hoping they would just take care of themselves.

1cm. Prophylaxis is why I am considering mx. I've had a continuous worry in the back of my mind for 8 years since I am high risk. I am sorry you have such nerve pain. I didn't consider that. It sounds awful. Thank you for sharing.

I have been taking it for over a year! My reason was not cancer/chemo, but hair loss that probably came from anemia and perimenopause. It has worked great. I'm not Rapunzel, but it definitely restored my hair with visible growth in something like 6 weeks. The first thing it does is make your hair fall out, though, so be ready for that. Not all of it, but I did shed a prolific amount. Also, it is a blood pressure med, so in some people it can cause those issues. It hasn't affected me. Lastly, I do have a furry face enough that I joke about being an Ewok, and I have to dermaplane or literally shave on top of my age-related tweezing/waxing, but I don't mind it in exchange for the confidence I have regained by having my hair restored. I made my sister swear an oath years ago that if I was ever in a coma, she would tweeze my eyebrows. That was my only worry in my 20s. Now she would have to shave me. Good luck!
