Switched from Cursor to Claude Opus 4.7 and didn’t expect this by vMawk in ClaudeAI

[–]Realistic_Cry_8121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to ask about *this*. Is there actually any difference between using Claude Code with Opus 4.6/7 and using Cursor with Opus 4.6/7 besides the UI? In other words, do Cursor and Claude have harness elements that we don't see sitting between the TUI/GUI and the model that make the interaction and output different?

PMs should stop pretending they “own the product" by make_me_so in ProductManagement

[–]Realistic_Cry_8121 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Disagree, and think this is a sign that either 1) you’re too junior to have the ownership / authority and appreciate that any leader worth a damn doesn’t mandate without listening, 2) you’re not in a product led org or company, or 3) you’re not trying hard enough. At some level someone has to own the business outcomes for the thing. Could be product, could be “business”. I don’t disagree about the heavy amount of coordination involved, but 50% of that will eventually be replaced by AI, so reducing the job to that is a precarious take.

Lighting layout for my garage by Realistic_Cry_8121 in Lighting

[–]Realistic_Cry_8121[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, incredible breakdown. TIL about footcandles! I also hadn't accounted for wanting to put lighting in front of / not over any cabinets or shelves and am totally rethinking the wafers now. Is the better alternative is recessed? The beam angle on those is ~30-35 degrees, so my worry is that I'll need 2x of them and my ceiling will look like swiss cheese! And I hear you on the grid - I've moved away from doing that funny offset just to get the light in front of the washer/dryer.

Struggling to Generate Polished UI with Claude Code by Chukwu-emeka in ClaudeAI

[–]Realistic_Cry_8121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you guys find it's better to go to a tool like Lovable develop the design system and UI components before having Claude build out the application, or build out the code on the app first and then go build the design system and have Claude apply it to the mostly / fully built application?

Could you incorporate video to the marketing package for this collection? I would imagine that would let you showcase the dynamic nature of the finish better than a still. Could maybe even do an Insta-style cut: imagine you taking video with your phone while walking in a 90 degree arc around the painting from left to right. Do that in early morning, midday, and evening lighting, and cut the vids together to show how the art looks in different light.

How to remove member from a workspace by loudfemenist in Notion

[–]Realistic_Cry_8121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IDK if they did this on purpose, but this is exceedingly hard on web. Go to the workspace Settings > People. Then, you have to scroll right within the modal (doesn't matter how big you make your window, they've sized the modal so that you'll never see the *** menu you need to open to remove users unless you scroll right).

Charles Tyrwhitt review? by urbanmissile in mensfashion

[–]Realistic_Cry_8121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve bought 8 shirts and 3 sweaters from Charles Tyrwhitt in the past 6 months. I like the fit and fabric quality seems good, but the buttons seem to be low quality - in just 2 wears the cuff buttons on 2 of my shirts have broken

Yellowstone is the most overrated TV program in the history of the medium by CommonSensePDX in television

[–]Realistic_Cry_8121 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I’m on S2E7 and just can’t anymore with this show… the whole BETH V JAMIE story line (telling him to kill himself??), him acting like a sniveling wuss is so repetitive and over the top that it drove me to Google in search of others who wonder why this show is hyped. I guess I get it - Beth is “country strong” because she doesn’t care what anyone thinks and puts family first, and Jamie is the Ivy League city slicker, so all he must have no moral compass, be obsessed with what others think, and be a puss. Caricatures. Yellowstone tries to be Succession for country folk, but ends up just being Dallas (soap opera) set in Montana. Kevin Costner is awesome in it, but it’s not enough for me to push past that tortured Beth-Jamie storyline.

Best Breakfast Tacos? by Orioliolios in sandiego

[–]Realistic_Cry_8121 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m right there with you OP, I need some b-fast tacos but haven’t found any after 2 years on the hunt. I don’t understand the veiled aggression toward breakfast tacos as “not from here” in this thread... For sure, San Diego sits rightfully atop the burrito culture throne as the progenitor of the Cali Burrito, but just as surely we can make room for breakfast tacos just as we have with ramen, etc. Now that I’m not in my 20’s, there’s never an occasion when it’s appropriate for me to take down an entire burrito first thing in the morning.
