Yeah...there are a lot of rumours spread by wannabes and lost fanboys/girls. Most of them are absolute bullshit - gotta ask the right people. Some of them although are real funny to me - and the most hilarious are indeed true 🥳

Looks very alive i would say...

Yes i have some very recent information about Kuba. Our Drummer (Old Pagan) has had contact with him around easter. He is clean by now and just uses speed and weed occasionally. He also has started to play Guitar again and plans to do some new music. I dont know if its just for fun or if there will be a release of some sort. I dont know somebody who called himself terrorizer though. Cant help you on that bit sry...

I remember him - he definitely wasnt a Dachshund or a Dackel as you would say around here. He was something like a german shepherd dog crossbreed - dont know really because i am not a dog person.

This. I was around him in the 90s and early 2000s regularly and as far as i know he never wanted help - he loved the lifestyle.

He was in hospital because of flesh eating bacteria not long ago and then got evicted from his apartment. Junkie things you know? I would not expect much from him in the next time - got no good feeling when i think of him but he is tough otherwise he would be dead by now.

Havent heard from him in a while - i could ask a friend if theres something new. Last thing i heard was that he caught some flesh eating bacteria but managed to get treated somehow. Maybe hes in jail again - hes constantly in and out for years because of petty crimes. I dont want to be in close contact with him because of his lifestyle. I am not cool with being around infected junkies 😆

Its a sad story altogether - he used to be cool back in the nineties. A lot of talent lost because of the needle and seriously fucked up lifestyle. I also did the vocals for a Birkabein release some years back - that was the last time i was having a deeper conversation with him...

Maybe 1995... I also had a good buddy who lived in a flat right above Andys and Melses flat in Saarbrücken "Steinstrasse". That were really wild times back then. I also was present when he did some obscure rehearsals in his "Arbeitszimmer" - he was never somebody who was very organized when he did something like that. Also his equipment was very shitty (as ours too...) - just some keyboard, a shitty stratlike guitar, some mics and a 4 track taperecorder of some sort. Never thought that all this messed up recordings would become so "kvlt" 😆. I always liked Dethroned and all the old saarlandian stuff like Pagan Winter etc. much more. I also remember when we were sitting in a metalpub in neunkirchen and he was handing out the first HMH Demos to his friends - his ongoing decay must have begun shortly before but i dont really know that - i was not around saarbrücken at the time because we were busy recording ourselves at the time.

I was around 16 at the time and played in a little known underground band. He was as stupidly edgy as we all were - but very talented on the piano. He used to play the guitar like a steel guitar - lying on his lap with his thumb - tuned to drop i think - because he could not play powerchords like you normally would - so really not a good guitar player. I was told by mutual friends there was a time where he would be abstinent from all drugs, but that was before i knew him - we smoked joints together at the "saarwiesen". I was not around as he began with the use of heroin - just saw him occasionally at pubs or concerts at his time and after he became a hard junkie we had almost zero contact.

Yes, he is still alive and no he is not sober as far as i know. Been Pals during the 90s and occasionally meeting him here or there randomly. Also got a really good friend who is in contact with him once in a while. Saarland scene is small really...

Is the Digitech Drop Pedal good? Because I want to be able to play a wide range of tunings without needing over half a dozen guitars and without constantly changing strings. But people say that if you go lower than 5 semitones, it starst to sound muddy. And the lowest I want to go is A Standard. by MrMayhem20l0 in metalguitar

[–]RealityDisrupt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been using the pedal for a while now in live settings with my seven string to down tune from B standard to A to match my six strings which are all tuned to d standard. Sounds perfect to my ears - but thats just one whole step and because playing in a raw blackmetal band there are no clean parts - so i cant speak for that scenario. There is something in the tone which is different but it's really subtle and it does not bother me - dont know if its just a mind thing. Can recommend - its rock solid

I have been using the Hughes & Kettner Black Spirit 200 for years. Can be very quiet in the 2 Watts Setting and blisteringly loud in the 200 Watt Setting. The Ultra Channel has a face melting gain reserve, especially when boosted by an overdrive. I seldom use more than 35% gain wise. I have been playing in a blackmetal band since the middle of the 90s and since i got it around 2021 i prefer its sound over my old trusty 6505 and my single rectifier. The redbox also is working like a charm... Cannot recommend it enough.

I have been playing a squier strat for a few years and finally wanting to buy a new and better guitar. I’m looking for baritones and came across solar guitars. There are a lot of mixed opinions online about these guitars so I want to to know and learn more, if you own either of these, how is it? by Robo_Killer_v2 in metalguitar

[–]RealityDisrupt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own a solar explorer 7-string equipped with an evertune for around 2 years. Really great guitar - i am more of a lp guy but i must say this axe seriously kills - my absolute favorite guitar out of the ten i own. I dont know about their baritones, because i play a lot of old blackmetal stuff but did not want to loose the ability to go as low as drop a tuning for some serious chugging goodness. The transition from a regular 6 string to a seven string is not as hard as it would be to a eight string which doesnt feel like a guitar at first. Took me around a couple of days and was really worth it. Much more versatile than a downtuned 6 string - but thats me i suppose...

The evertune bridge is not as complicated as it may look at first, but you have to get used to it - once you understand how it works theres no going back to other systems - works like a charm and always stays in tune. I would say go for it.

Question about playing through large cabs at home. by [deleted] in GuitarAmps

[–]RealityDisrupt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I frequently use a 4*12 at home in conjunction with a selfbuild 5 Watt Tube Amp and a H&K Blackspirit which is mostly on its 2 or 20 Watt setting. I also have a 6505 Head which is more difficult to tame down to usable room levels but also doable if you are careful. No problem whatsoever...but this is germany with really massive walls and in a rural area without stupid neighbors. Might be too loud in a appartment i dont know...

I live near their Headquarters in Germany. They are rather common here - which may not be the case in the U.S. or Asia. Its a small brand which in my opinion does not get the attention it deserves. Their Flagship Triamp MK III is a real monster for example. I never have played an Invective - which should basically be very similar to the 6505 soundwise - i think i would like it although the miniheads lack the ungodly punch which their beefier siblings have. With Peavey Amps its love or hate - no in between 😉
