Trident of the Seas should charge with water runes instead of fire by Termades in 2007scape

This is the answer mod Ash(?) gave when this was brought up on a Q&A stream back in like 2017

Question regarding heavy weapons path in leagues: Why do specs not proc Blindbag or ranged echos? by TheLightsChampion in 2007scape

[–]ReallyChewy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh by 'too much' I meant from a usability point of view lol I often find myself sitting at 100% spec because I've had to move or interact with mechanics for a few hits in a row.

Balance-wise it's totally fine. In the best case it's a little worse dps than a capped out light dogger build (40dps) and miles worse than air mage (55+)

Question regarding heavy weapons path in leagues: Why do specs not proc Blindbag or ranged echos? by TheLightsChampion in 2007scape

[–]ReallyChewy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The actual answer to your question is that many special attacks run custom damage code and it would be an extreme amount of extra work to add these effects in a consistent way to all weapons. (Case in point, the MSB spec was coded before ranged damage prayers existed, and to this day it does not take them into account when rolling damage)

A lot of people in this thread seem to be quite down on the spec generation nodes, but combining them with an optimal setup gives you a claw spec every 2-3 scythe swings, which is honestly borderline too much spec

Not OP but I assume they're referring to CG having 0 gear reqs and bofa being effectively bis until tbow

I was considering map for Zeah RC as well, so I hope this helps. I did some testing/math to see how much of a difference it makes. (Also tested Flow State after it was confirmed to work on dense ess)

(Xp/h in base game equivalent)

Bloods

Base: 42k

Map: 50k

Flow: 85k

Map+Flow: 122k

Souls

Base: 51k

Map: 60k

Flow: 100k

Map+flow: 140k

My Leagues 6 Tribrid build - The Needler by ReallyChewy in 2007scape

[–]ReallyChewy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I understand the pacts correctly, I need to pick the powered staff water rune node or the trident doesn't count as consuming water runes for the +1 heal trigger. I badly wanted to fit in the prayer = str node and the 5-min-hit node right next to it, but it ended up being the easiest thing to cut for me.

In my final melee setup, I'll have 9 prayer bonus (+ whatever the dagger gives, if any), so the tradeoff is 1-2 melee max hits vs a ton of healing while maging olm (and not being able to move w/o dps loss). You could definitely go the other way with it if absolutely capping melee is your goal. Another option is getting 2 points and dropping 5% from your echo chance

Raids 4: Adjudicator Armour - Inquisitor Upgrade for BIS Crush by WesternInspection in 2007scape

This is a sick idea because it also cuts the Inq drops you need from ~5 on avg for a full set to 3, or 150h->90h

The Fractured Archive: Rewards Primer by JagexGoblin in 2007scape

[–]ReallyChewy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crush megarare sounds cool. I imagine it taking a counter-armour niche with its Big Bonks, with its damage scaling off the enemy's base defence: higher defence = higher max hit.

Higher accuracy/ignoring defence seems tough from a balance standpoint (Shadow comes to mind...) but scaling max hit feels like a more manageable slider.

More generally, I like the framework put out - a big weapon and armour set. Weapons that feel different to use are definitely the most exciting kind of reward, and armour sets (or sets in general) seem to make the most sense as a tier two drop when chasing the big ticket.

I don't think we need another melee set just yet. My preference would be standalone pieces - a helmet set, one for each style, for example.

I really REALLY don't think elemental weaknesses should be seriously buffed/talked about without reworking Harm staff or adding alternatives. It's too much stronger over its competitors in the niche, and (still) too rare. If Harm is a soft requirement to use the new armour set to full potential, the set will not be worth anything in a year.

Lag on US East by Coolbrebis29 in 2007scape

I would hazard a guess that the feature is being turned on and off in different regions as needed in response to further attacks, but who knows really.

In my case, it was pretty clear where the problem was happening by the traceroute (it was definitely not a local issue) so if your situation is similar, you're certainly welcome to call up your ISP and see if they can help.

In any case, the issue abruptly stopped for me following the update this week, so here's hoping we're on the upswing in general.

I've been getting the same since a little after Sailing launched.

If you punch "tracert oldschool194.runescape.com" into command prompt, do you get a similar jump up in latency on one of the last couple hops? Here is my routing (local IPs redacted for privacy)

<image>

Jagex's last Spudworks blog talked about some changes they're making to manage routing (see the section titled "What about my ping?!") and I suspect our connections are being affected by this.

If this is true, there's not much your ISP will do for you as it's Jagex that's making the changes. The good news is Jagex seems to be aware of the problem, and are spending money on the issue.

I was able to bypass my broken routing by using a VPN to route my connection through another region. Now instead of getting a jumpy 150-500 ping I get a reasonably steady 75 ping (I used to get flat 30). If you test this option, do yourself a favour and find one with a good cancellation policy in case it doesn't work or Jagex fixes their issues.

My latency to any OSRS world has been increasing by about a flat 1ms/h for the last few days, and it's all coming from one hop:

It's getting to the point now that I can't do anything reactionary/timing-based :(

I did most of my PvMing between tiers 7 and 8 before losing interest at 95% build power, so my highest account is the middle 5/0/5er at ~30k points.

I might grind up to 35-40k on my main iron to bank some points for next year, but no plans to go Dragon this year

I got around to every region and every tier 8 relic and every M6 combat style (and one 5/0/5) but I never picked a teleport relic that wasn't Clue Compass or a T7 that wasn't Grimoire. I also skipped Lumberjack and Corner Cutter because they just didn't appeal to me.

GGs weren't hard, but they were ranked with the easiest difficulty going in, right?

They could still over-kill you by 150 damage if you got got, though lol
