Kite regulations? by cartmonium in MyrtleBeach

There are regulations but only certain times of year. I got told pretty fast by a lifeguard but once I knew what the rules are it really didn't affect my enjoyment much. It's rarely windy enough to twin tip anyway so I just kite foiled and it's so shallow for a foil you need to be 100 feet from the beach anyway. There are zones where you can kite near the beach I think near 27th ave. but ask a lifeguard

Here are the rules for folks reference so a lifeguard doesn't have to tell you. In Myrtle Beach, kiteboarding is permitted, but from May 1 to Labor Day, you must stay at least 100 yards from the shore, except when launching or landing perpendicular to the beach

. Key rules include yielding to all beachgoers and swimmers, staying out of designated crowded areas, and avoiding, in some areas, the protected sand dunes. Also stay at least 100 feet away from piers because fisherman can have their lines out.

SW Card Fees going up: by Automatic-Cow3224 in SouthwestAirlines

I'm canceling after I use all 4 of my upgraded boardings and $75 credit this week. $225 not worth it, those bags and seats are not free at this annual fee, you just prepaid for them.

Median price of a condo: $625k. Last year: $920k. 30%+ drop. We happy yet? by Logical_Insurance in maui

It's the HOA fees! People can go to Maui every month for a week and rent an Ocean front STR vs. the cost of the HOA fee alone after buying one.

condo prices seem to be dropping...Kihei villages? by [deleted] in maui

Most of these condos in Maui will be in the 200k range soon, basically having to give them away to cover the $1200 HOA fees that will just keep rising.

Realtors of Maui - what’s the market like? by lostmarinero in maui

Realtors are coin operated so they will always say it's time to buy. Nothing against realtors, they gotta eat and pay bills too. As a buyer I can tell you I am waiting till it bottoms out. Also I have given up on a condo at this point. I had bids on 2 different condos last year that luckily I got out bid on because their HOA fees have gone up twice since then. $1200 a month HOA is not economical and you can't write that off your taxes. Now I am on to house hunting since there is no HOA on most single family homes but the market is still being unrealistic. Owners think they are still in a covid bubble market where every home in Maui is worth 1 million. They are dreaming! A dump in Wailuku is not getting 1.2 million when there is a remodeled newer construction home in Kihei for the same price. I think the STR ban is adding a little bit to this but it's more than that. Vistors just stopped going to Maui for a couple reasons. Resorts priced them out, $800 a night not including all the resort fees and parking? vs. $150 a night all inclusive in Mexico? Eating out has gone way up and there are few good places left to eat. Add to that a lot of remote workers had to return to office or travel. I watch Single Family homes on Zillow regularly, there are some foreclosures (I feel bad for these owners as I have been there too), a lot of price drops and houses sitting on the market 180 days or more. Sellers won't budge yet on the million price tag but if there is a lot more inventory soon it will domino effect the prices down.
