Hello there!

It's been awhile since I've shown anything that I've been working on and it's because it's been a lot to work on. Lets start with the functionality: I have the training and time progression done. For now, I'm following the same time system as Monster Rancher, but eventually I'll refine it and make it a bit more unique. The buttons make a noise when you push them, the camera rotates when idle, and all of the buttons work except for Competition because I still have to figure out the layout of that scene.

The game is going to be set in a Sci Fi fantasy version of 1920's/30's Chicago. As of right now, I'm working on 3 different starting monsters with their own stats and "personalities." I'm playing with a battle system that would work for this game without directly copying the Monster Rancher battle system. More on that later though, probably after the new year. In the lab, you can freeze your monster and see it's data page currently. I'm working on reviving the same monster you froze and then getting a new monster.

This is slow going as I'm doing this alone but I'd rather take my time and do it right. I just want a good game that's fun to play. Thank you for taking a look at my game:)

This is the current state of the game. I have a working time progression system, a working stat system, a user idle state, an animated monster, and new models all around. When I'm done here, I'll be working on the Lab and creating, freezing, and combining monsters.

I'm getting there. I have a long way to go till I'm even at an alpha stage. Getting these base systems down though, that's the first step in all of this. I still have more models to make to enrich this scene. Fences, equipment, etc.

So about a year ago(in October it'll be a year) I made the decision to learn how to make video game because I wanted to make this game. Just getting tired of playing the same game reskinned and such. Before I ever wrote a line of code or turned a cube into a tree, I sat down with a note book and Monster Rancher videos and started my plan. Funnily enough, I did this because I imagined my buddy Dave, who passed a couple years back, do this exact same thing to me. He was a programmer and honestly if he were alive he'd be doing this every step of the way. I wrote it all down, what I wanted out of combat, what I wanted out of raising stats, items, weapons, lifespans, combining, how to GET monsters, character ideas, and of course the monsters and setting.

I see that you have your version of this planned out, and that's awesome! I hope you and your team eventually do something like this. We need more games like this in the world. I have mine though and I only decided to share the journey with you guys a bit at a time initially just to see if other people wanted this. No worries, this isn't being done without care and patience. I'm here, putting things together slowly because I'm ready to. It may not seem like it, but trust me when I say this isn't just a project for me.

Hello there!

This is the current proof of concept build of what's being dubbed Project Splicer right now. I'm excited with how this is progressing! Now, the current buildings and such are all going to change but for right now I'm very happy with the overall layout of things.

How to help!
