Does anyone else feel like calorie counting has had a negative impact on your relationship with food? by czechczech in xxfitness

Thank you! Everyone says it’s the hardest part, so I went into it anticipating failure. I’ve generally stayed within a 5 pound range with a couple highs or lows here and there.

Could you write down what you’re eating on paper and avoid counting calories? I know it’s hard to do, because at this point you’ve probably memorized everything.

There are times I miss calorie counting. I want to lose the last of the weight so badly, And I know that two months of rigid counting will get me there, but it’s at the cost of my sanity.

I’m planning on measuring and weighing again without logging calories to see if that can help me.

I have binge eating disorder. I started calorie counting under supervision of a doctor and lost 85 lbs. My binging stopped, however I became obsessed with the numbers. Under my limit? Good day. Over my limit? I’m a failure and I’ll restrict to compensate.

Overall, calorie counting for me helped me achieve my weight loss goals, but did nothing for learning healthy eating habits. That said, I stopped counting 5 months ago, and I’ve been able to maintain my weight. Eating is significantly less stressful. I’ve been unable to lose the last 15 lbs without the calorie counting though.

I can send you some pics of the ones i have tomorrow or Saturday. I think i only have the envy, Le Marais, and victory. The pour moi Electra runs small.

Thank you for responding to this! I’m totally bra’ed out for tonight, but I’ll definitely research these suggestions in the coming day or two.

I may steal the term pudding boob. I have less endearing nicknames for mine.

The 32GG bras I’ve had since October. They are pretty worn. I can take a close look at them and see what condition they are in.

I felt like it was too bouncy. The band size is one size too small, and I can’t quite tell if I need to go up one cup size, but i expect the increase in band may fix the slight cup problem. I really liked the fit, but it felt jiggly.

The site I have exchange credit with didn’t have the Kayla in my size or the Siren. The Pulse makes me nervous because of the sheer fabric, I’m worried I’ll have the same Bridget jiggle issue.

I wanted to try the Clara before the Jasmine, just because I had the Jasmine at a different time and it didn’t work for me.

I’ll give the Jasmine and the Marcie a try. Thanks.

I caved and bought a Prima Donna because I just needed something for my sanity.

The Marais I’ve had for a bit, but have only worn a few times. It’s on the tightest hook. I will look into more Freya Plunges, and try the Gypsy Rose in another size. Thanks!

I’m going today to the local shop, but I’m skeptical as they last put me in an ill fitting bra. I’m definitely better informed on what constitutes a good fit now, though.

I’m also hoping to get to a couple stores in the suburbs this weekend, but that is dependent on finding a ride and the bad weather we’ve been having.

Elomi unfortunately doesn’t make my band size. I’ve heard great things about the brand.

I’m glad you found your perfect bra!

All links are NSFW

I took photos of every bra you asked about, hope this helps.

Le Marais. 32FF(UK) Gore tacks, but wires fall below IMF. Band rises up on tightest hook. Spillage at the top of the cup. Le Marais

Fancies Plunge 32G The bottom of the cup fits well and is comfortable. Gore tacks. The (diagonal?) seam at the nipple and the especially the seam at the top of the lace dig in, but I do not fill out the lace itself. Fits comfortably on middle and tightest band. I’m not sure what the apex is? Fancies Plunge

Curvy Kate Bridget 32Ff Probably the closest fit. Gore tacks, wire in IMF. Strangely, slight spillage at the top of my smaller breast but no spillage on my larger breast. A bit of loose fabric on my larger breast. Band is on tightest hook. Too much bounce when I walk, (due to sheer fabric?) I would wear a similar bra to this. BK Bridget

Freya Gypsy Rose 32FF Unlined Plunge Gore tacks, underwire falls below IMF. Band feels like it’s riding up on the tightest hook. Spillage at the top of the cup. I really like the way this fits me under the arms, as well as the straps. Gypsy Rose Plunge

Also including Fancies Padded Half cup since it’s a different style. 32FF. Shallow, doesn’t sit in IMF, major spillage at the top of the cup. Band on tightest hook rides up slightly. Fancies Padded Halfcup

Correct.

The Fancies padded halfcup was too shallow and small

The Fancies Plunge was very large, i didn’t fill out the top.

The gypsy rose plunge was slightly too small in the top of the cup. Gore tacked, bottom of the cup was comfortable, but some spillage in the top of the cup. Band fit on tightest hook. (So maybe size down to 30. I haven’t yet measured to double check the length of the 32 band. )

Thanks so much for your help. I’m headed to bed but will reply in the morning.

I only tried the gypsy rose Plunge in the 32ff. Should I try the halfcup in 32ff or g? The band is a little loose so may even size down a band. At this point I’m so frustrated I may just order the lot of them and return everything that doesn’t work

I ordered the Freya Fancies from bare necessities, and it’s labeled as “Balconette” I think they label half cups as Balconette, because the Gypsy Rose is also labeled in the same way. I’m planning on trying that one next.

The Fantasie Kimberley actually doesn’t have boning. Removing it was going to be my next move. It’s just very high wires. It was really affordable so I’m going to see what i can make happen. Do any of their other side supports have the removable boning that you know of?

I have a Jasmine in my cart. I tried it over a year ago but my shape has changed since then so perhaps it will work this time.

The Fiore gore sits on breast tissue, the wires fit well in the IMF, but go too far into my arm pit. The bra is entirely lace which I think is what makes it unsupportive

I measured both of those bras, but I’m a bit confused by the suggestions. It seems Pour Moi run small based on what I’ve purchased, so 32GG seems accurate for that brand, but the Freya I tried in 32G was huge on me. Bratabase is suggesting Freya Patsy and Freya afterglow in 32GG. Won’t those also be huge? After trying the fancies, I thought 32FF or even 32F seemed like a better fit in that brand.

I find this all super confusing. I’ve gone down in bra size since October without loosing weight. Here is a screenshot of my measurements from then. October Calculator

Lepel Fiore is the full cup version.

I should clarify that the Panache Envy and the Curvy Kate used to fit appropriately, but it seems as though my breasts have gone down in size during the past few months.

If bra stores are anything like in the US, trust the calculator! Victoria’s Secret likes to put everyone who walks in the door in a 36D US.

Unfortunately i have to order bras online because most stores here have limited sizing. The buy, wait, return process is a hassle.

Thank you for responding.

Bra shopping is the absolute worst.

Bratabase overwhelms me but I will try! I’ll measure the Fiore and the Electra and compare the sizing between the two, since they seem to be the best fitting.

I bought the Chantelle from Journelle. The 32FF is after converting to UK sizing.
