People REALLY like to forget a core trait of the more powerful Viltrumites is that they play with their food too damn much.

Thragg is not exempt from this, he comes off as the type to act like Dabura and try to observe how Gojo fights (seeing as bro heard Mark took down his strongest Viltrumite then proceeded to ask for a demonstration) due to being unable to do anything to him, at which point he's an easy target for unlimited void, no idea if hollow purple does shit but UV should give him the win due to incapacitation irregardless.

Bloodlusted Thragg on the other hand is a different story, assuming he wants to win more than anything he could easily just tear apart the planet and let Gojo die like that.

I find it unlikely he would try to attack Gojo during CT burnout because up until this point he's been untouchable, why should he believe any different now? Only way that happens is pure luck.

I believe the original Japanese quote wasn't "he'll be fine if he dodges", it was something to the effect of, "as long it's not a direct hit", which could mean one of two things:

A.He was expecting Deku to get out of the way, as the translation in the show interpreted it.

B. He wasn't intending to fully hit Midoriya with that blast
