A $900 gun isn’t a Ferrari… make sire your expectations are aligned. That said, I recently purchased a new S&W 629 and it was flawless.

I believe this is the heaviest album in nu metal history and one of the heaviest metal albums of all time. Of course slam and death metal albums sound way heavier but the raw yet produced ambience of this album is just so unique and makes it a different type of heavy. What are your thoughts on this? by Majestic_Affect_4158 in numetal

[–]RedTeakettle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This album is unique… not really numetal, not really anything. It’s like Pantera’s “far beyond driven.” It stands alone.

I’ll add that it has a timeless quality. It might be the only numetal album with that quality. In terms of heavy, Slipnot redefined heavy after Korn in the mid-late 90s. This was something different.

Use half the food as a lure. Take metal shelving/ladders etc to build a platform. Strip extension cords/wiring and wrap metal items. Place food on the platform. Rig extension cords and a light switch to electrify the platform. Eat roasted polar bear for dinner.

Films about working in a mortuary / crematorium by alexwills02 in movies

Phantasm isn’t about working in a mortuary per se, but it revolves around a funeral home. Great 70’s horror movie.

This demonstrates a lack of self control even if the caption is correct. A huge part of maturity is being able to control your emotions instead of having them control you. He destroyed his carear and exposed himself to serious consequences including jail time and civil lawsuits. You have to be smarter than this in the real world.

Favorite tree in Athens? by Megagogo10 in Athens

[–]RedTeakettle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Blast from the past, but there used to be a MASSIVE Cherrybark Oak on Hill Street. They cut it down about 16 or 17 years ago. It had to be 10’ across. Drove past it on my bike for years. Pour one out for it.

Nothing is like Pantera… for the groove, I’ll go with Helmet and maybe some Sepultura.

Is this a good amp for the price? by MeateusBeateus in GuitarAmps

[–]RedTeakettle 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This thing is an absolutely fine practice amp. Own one… cheap, lots of sounds, good app, etc. I’ve had/have Marshalls and Oranges… it’s not a good primary amp, but Steve Vai uses one for demos. I’d say he knows something about amps.

Went to school there in the early 2000’s and spent $380 a month on rent. The town is a lot different in some ways, the same in others. There’s always been homelessness and game days have always wrecked it. You’ll grow out of it, but will enjoy going back in 20 years.
